As a Chemist II, you create chemistry by...

• Drawing on your academic background and relevant research or industrial experience in Analytical Chemistry, you will be responsible for operating a scanning electron microscope, evaluating energy dispersive X-ray spectrums, and preparing samples using diverse microscopy techniques. You will deliver direct analytical support to the BASF R&D organization.
• Being able to excel in a high-pressure, demanding environment will be highly valued, as you ensure the timely preparation of various material types, including fresh and spent catalysts, battery materials, and zeolites.
• Utilizing a SEM equipped with EDS system will be vital as you develop and implement new sample preparation methods, troubleshoot processes, and work to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshooting processes within the laboratory and/or plant settings.
• Exemplifying effective written communication, you will report analytical data to researchers via the LIMS system.
• Providing assistance as needed in additional areas of analysis.
• Adhering to ISO and quality standards, you will maintain rigorous quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and precision of reported data.

If you have...

• A MS in Chemistry or equivalent or BS/BA in Chemistry or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience.
• Prior experience working with scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy analysis techniques for catalysts and battery materials (preferred).
• Prior experience working in an ISO regulated environment (preferred).
