As an Operations Development Coordinator, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and documentation of all training curriculum for production employees including specific processes, technical skills, refresher training, and new employee qualification training. You will promote safe, effective, and consistent production operation by ensuring that job specific, new-hire, refresher, and periodic training is completed and up to date for all employees through a mind-set of compliance and continuous improvement.

  • Supporting safe, reliable performance of operation by ensuring that procedures and training programs for production operators complies with regulatory and local standards for Safety, Quality, and Efficiency.
  • Delivering one on one coaching and instruction, in the field training, casual small group training, and formal stand-up instruction to production operators.
  • Creating training schedules, tracking and documenting training progress, and maintaining documentation on training records for production operators.
  • Working with Area Supervisors to manage shift qualification grids, assess shift training needs, and recommend movement of operators across shifts to balance needs, assess gaps, and train.
  • Developing a continuous improvement process to ensure effectiveness of training, including incorporating a robust method to respond to feedback regarding operator training needs.
  • Updating and maintaining operator training curricula including operating procedures, work instructions, job aids, and equipment specific lockouts through routine updates resulting from process changes, capital projects, audits, and periodic reviews.
  • Facilitating and leading 5S, visual management, lean, and other continuous improvement activities to improve safety and productivity in operations.
  • Participating and/or leading detailed occupational safety reviews (job safety analyses) for operator roles to ensure operator work instructions/procedures incorporate all relevant safety considerations
  • Continuously improving their skills and knowledge to maintain alignment with current corporate requirement and learning and development trends.
  • Collaborating with corporate resources, EHS personnel, and peer coordinators to drive best practices and consistency of training across the site.
  • Establishing relationships with on-the-job training mentors, subject matter experts, procedure reviewers, training reviewers, operations engineers, managers/supervisors, and EHS staff to support the area's training activities.

If you...

 

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in a technical field, engineering, education, communications, or human resources or related degree; or possess a high school diploma with relevant blend of knowledge and experience. 
  • Possess at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing as a trainer, training coordinator, or supervisor, OR possess at least 5 years of relevant experience in as a trainer in other, relevant work environment would be preferred. 
  • Have the ability to lead and motivate learners by appealing to the characteristics of adult learners.
  • Have the ability to appraise performance, assess training needs, translate job requirements into training requirements, and organize instructional material both during development and in presentations.  Must be able to identify issues and problem solve.
  • Are a proactive, motivated, self-starter capable of working with limited supervision and must have the ability to lead and motivate employees.  
  • Are a proficient in active listening, clear communication, training, coaching, and developing.
  • Have networking skills to help get all others to support the area's training activities, including the ability to encourage and improve the level of engagement within their team.
  • Have presentation skills suitable to all types of training (one-on-one coaching, in-the-field training, casual small group training, and formal stand-up instruction).
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills, are knowledgeable about training methods and techniques.
  • Are very proficient with a computer, Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • SAP and Success Factors knowledge would be a plus.
