We are looking for an Area Supervisor to join our FCC Catalyst team in Attapulgus, GA.

The BASF Attapulgus site manufactures catalyst for the global refining industry. We are looking for someone like you to join our team! The Area Supervisor is responsible for obtaining specified levels of performance in the areas of safety, quality, compliance, cost and personnel performance.  The Area Supervisor manages the work force responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant.  This is accomplished by encouraging employee ownership, promoting effective decision making and problem solving, maintaining high standards and developing direct reports utilizing high performance organization principles.  

As a FCC Area Supervisor, you create chemistry by

  • Ensuring all activities are performed in accordance with all BASF and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
  • Managing 30+ Union and non union employees.
  • Implementing and maintaining operational discipline to deliver reliable and predictable plant operation.
  • Ensuring Production Team Leaders successfully lead the performance of each team (shift) of operators to ensure teams work safely, issues are reported in a timely manner, and production goals are executed according to plan.
  • Holding direct reports responsible for maintaining established performance standards and policies, including attendance policies and timekeeping policies.
  • Providing leadership, coaching and guidance to optimize all aspects of the production operations in terms of employee and equipment performance.
  • Developing and implementing key performance indicators to provide guidance to teams to maximize performance in support of business goals.

If you...

 

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent with five years of previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment or 4 year college degree with three years of previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required. 
  • Leadership training and experience, including skills in negotiation, coaching, performance management, handling difficult conversations.
  • Demonstrated analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills with an ability to quickly address and resolve equipment and personnel issues.  Lean 6 Sigma training a plus.
  • Candidate must be a proactive, motivated, self-starter capable of working with limited supervision and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to lead and motivate employees.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with a computer and Microsoft Office Suite software.  Experience with SAP preferred.
