Assistant Manager, process engineering(001087)
- R&D support on process engineering related topics for BASF Zhanjiang site at upcoming startup phase and future operation phase.
- Lead complex projects, e.g. sophisticated process units, overall processes, sub tasks which require highly specialized know-how.
- Support Verbund development and Verbund Optimizer on identifying mature technologies/processes/approaches to reduce carbon emission and energy saving of BASF Zhanjiang Site.
- Support the Project teams, technology units of operational divisions and the plants in Zhanjiang for smooth startup and operation by identifying and consolidating needs into research topics.
- With collected topics from Verbund site, initiate, manage, constantly discuss, and align research projects with other project partners including technical groups, production, universities, etc to develop solutions on improved or/and new processes.
- Provide technical support for business units in Verbund on related process development and optimization, troubleshooting, debottlenecking after plants are successfully started-up.
- Closely watching and achieving project milestones, timeline and budget, present and document results, file patents.
- Join the expert network within the BASF global R&D community, operational units, technologies, and scientific partners to maintain state of the art expertise as well as monitor new practices and market trends.
- Drive new topics with strong initiatives and support the lead to coach young colleagues.
Requirements:
- Education: Ph.D. or Master in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related.
- Working Experience: PhD with >3 years’ experience in Chemical Industry; Master with >5 years’ experience in Chemical Industry.
- Technical & Professional Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge and experience on Chemical Engineering and process engineering, experience with reaction kinetics, purification and separation, thermodynamics, polymer process and reaction engineering, process system engineering, safety technology is a plus.
Modeling and simulation experience on flowsheet process and chemical units with software like Aspen is a strong plus.
Experience with industrial investment projects is a strong plus.
- English: Fluent.
- Demonstrate a high level of creativity and personal initiative, work well in global teams.
