Objectives of the Position

Our unit G-EVC/MA serves clients and partners with a custom and market business model

. Key targets are the identification of opportunities, converting opportunities into business through technical dialogue with customers and selling value of BASF technology as well as building and maintaining partnerships and client interactions aimed at growth in Japan.

 

Main Tasks

For the Custom business model:

· Identify business opportunities and develop appropriate strategies and relationships that deliver both top-line and bottom-line results within a cross-functional team and matrix organization.

· Establish and maintain relationships to existing customers and new target customers including major chemical companies, international process licensors as well as start-up companies.

· Able to use discretion and maintain confidentiality to safeguard Intellectual Property (IP) and know-how owned by third party customers and IP/know-how owned jointly by BASF and third-party customers For New Business Development:

· Jointly with Global and Regional teams, explore market opportunities and acquire new joint development projects at engineering companies and technology providers, with clear focus on the commercialization of innovative catalyst solutions for low-carbon process technologies.

· Further develop and strengthen alliances with our existing partners and establish relationships to new partners at engineering companies and technology providers.

· Develop and execute strategy tasks and establish technology roadmaps on sustainability for EVC portfolio, continuously assess and quantify emerging catalyst market segments around sustainability

· Contribute to the communication strategy surrounding the topic and ensure EVC’s visibility at conferences, workshops, expert panels, both external and internal.

 

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

· Bachelor degree or above in chemical engineering or chemistry

· solid foundation in catalyst know-how both on application and production side.

· Interest and knowledge on sustainability topics, alternative feedstocks, circularity, etc.

· minimum eight years of experience on chemical catalysts sales/marketing, R&D, engineering or technology licensing.

· Strong project management skills and the ability to drive processes across multiple functions from project start to commercial delivery

· strong customer focus as well as excellent communication skills in Japanese and English (both speaking and writing)

· able to work under pressure and motivated to achieve success together as a team.
