Objectives of the Position
The Manager, Digital Services Japan reports to the Senior Manager, Digital Services Japan. He/She is the responsible for business relationship, demand management, interface for the assigned Sub-region, Country or Internal Business Partner group. He/She leads area of competencies like Business Enablement, User Centric Customer Solutions, Consulting, Business Centric processes and applications; covering a Local, Regional or Global scope.

Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities
- Manage and drive the strategic partnership with local business partners.
- Manage the demand from local business, and research and analize the latest technologies.
- Steer the delivery of services in plan (design and concept), build and run phase.
- Manage projects in align with the global strategy and cyber security policy.
- Manage and support local vendors to assure quality customer service.
- Partnaling with global product team to support implementing global service
- Accountable for local and IBP group specific project deployment
- Manage escalations, issues, incidents of high impact
- Ensure business enablement for all Information Services related topics
Strategic
- Ensure global and regional strategies are implemented effectively in the assigned Areas.
- Demand capturing, solution design and implementation based on regional needs with right balance to global Information Services service portfolio
- Cover areas of advocacy, business enablement, Global project deployment, on-site support, application life cycle management with a focus on bespoke and local application solutions, cybersecurity
- Optimization of flexible, reliable and cost-efficient Information Services contributing to sustainable competitive position for BASF
- Necessity to work often outside of any process landscape
- Identify unique selling proposition for area of responsibility and is empowered to act entrepreneurial
Management
- Local projects are scoped and resourced to meet the needs of the business. Create and optimize the level of IT services in the allocated area
- Establish performance-based service agreements, manage improvement of services and reduction of cost
- Provide an effective escalation process for RBPS / Information Services issues
- Responsible for compliance of all Information Services operations with BASF policies, government regulations and responsible care program
Operational
- Establish collaborative relationships with the business partners external and Internal Business Partners to ensure the requirements are clearly defined and cost communicated and managed
- Promote the standard Information Services of the Digital Services division within the business / functional units and find the right balance to local differentiated solutions
Information Services Process Development
- Responsible for the development and alignment of Information Services policy and processes including representation of allocated Areas in development and implementation of global and regional Information Services initiatives
- Research, drive, evaluate and identify opportunities to improve Information Services operations and information flow through the implementation of new digital transformation technologies

Key Skills
- General knowledge of the value chain in the manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of cloud services and cloud-based IT infrastructure
- Knowledge of authentication and security such as Identity and Access Management and zero-trust networks
- Knowledge of business platforms such as Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azuru, SalesForce, etc
- Ability to communicate with overseas partners in English through virtual meetings

Job Requirements
Education
|
- University graduate, majoring in the area of Engineering, Business Administration, Information Management, Computer Science or Information Technology
|
Working Experience
|
- At least 6 years of experience in IT disciplines
- Work experiences in a multi-national company
- Project Management experience is required

- In-depth Knowledge of:

- Human relationship and communications skills are important to:
- Develop and establish co-operation with users/IBP at all hierarchy levels
