Technical Executive - Pigment Qualification
Objectives of the Position
- Fundamental know-how and/or skills to learn, relevant coating technologies and color theory
- General knowledge of pigment chemistry, pigment performance testing and the test methods associated to meet required specifications, preferable for coatings industry and/or OEM Automotive coatings industry.
- Basic knowledge, in pigment dispersion processes (color and effects) and the test methods associated.
- General understanding to perform design of experiments, root cause investigation and technical problems resolution for product functionality.
- Test, report and maintain records of the testing results, based in test methods and Standard Operating Procedures, according to the priorities defined in the Pigment Selection Meetings.
- Ensure compliance with Quality standards (IATF & RC) and maintain certification
Main Tasks
- Drive fundamental activities on pigment qualification, analyzing and reporting pigment performance testing results as potential candidates for our pigment portfolio in global technologies.
- Actively take part in the submission for testing to services laboratory, tracking and documenting the return of the evaluations
- Write comprehensive reports and, if necessary, represent these in relevant context to present to the Operational Pigment Lead
- Actively exchange information, updates and status of the pigment qualification, be a contact point for the Operational Pigment Lead.
- Provides any necessary support for color Innovation efforts as needed.
- Actively support and implement cost reduction projects.
- Work in any digitalization system active or implemented in the site
- Be compliant to audit-documentation of experiments and results
EHS Management:
- Exercise an elevated level of good housekeeping and Health and Safety Awareness within the Lab and ensure others do the same.
- Actively participate to ensure early identification of hazards and initiate timely corrective actions and preventive practices.
- Ensure the safe handling of hazardous chemicals and adherence to PPE usage of the lab personnel and the Work Permit system is properly followed. Compliance of process safety and environment code as per BASF policies.
Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
- Bachelor’s degree in technology: Preferably, Chemical Engineering or Industrial Engineering. 0-5 years of experience in a related field pigments and/or coatings, preferable Automotive OEM Coatings
- English Communication skill is a must
