• Act as the main focal point for all Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) transformation (reduction) activities in Asia
= Main Tasks =
• Support and act as local lead in organizing the supplier day in Asia
• Manage projects/sub-projects in the area of Supplier CO2 Management Program (SCMP)
• Development of Scope 3 reduction strategies / Green House Gases (GHG) reduction roadmaps together with key suppliers and respective buyers; interaction and alignment with Operating Divisions for roadmaps; alignment of this activities with the global SCMP team
• Development of “making PCF a procurement criterion” approach by adapting procurement processes in the region (with alignment of global SCMP team);
• Introduction of sustainability criteria into Global Procurement's contract negotiations, possibly also embedded procurement, in cooperation with relevant stakeholders in BASF, e.g. Corporate Development, Legal, BASF Renewable Energy GmbH (Bren), and the business units as well as support buyer in negotiation
• Identify, evaluating and implementing opportunities together with the buyers to reduce Scope 3 emissions; develop and lead pilot projects for PCF reduction (on corporate level/on individual product level)
• Support / lead development and implementation activities of Matchmaking (part of SCOTT 3.0) in the region and act as interface for data management/IT tool development
• Exchange with relevant stakeholders to quantify savings potential
• Understanding of value chains and customer needs.
• Continuous monitoring of internal and external activities for the pricing of low PCF products.
• Support for the implementation of the "Green Transformation Strategy BASF"
= Job Requirements =
• Bachlor Degree in Environmental Engineering or any sustainability relevant major is preferred; Master Degree in business administration (MBA) is advantageous
• Minimum 8 years working experience in similar area
• Strong negotiation skills
• Solid project management experience
• Knowledge of supplier, market environment, products and technologies within respective area
• Knowledge of procurement processes and guidelines
• Excellent in English communication, both verbal and written
