Senior Manager, Procurement Technical Management(006283)
• Lead activities involved in the development of new suppliers for raw materials, from the initial search to the successful implementation of new solutions for all coating business at BASF Coatings.
• Interface between suppliers and BASF Coatings technical teams
Main Tasks:
• Leading the technical aspects of new raw materials development and product innovation, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders throughout the entire process.
• Effectively managing and providing comprehensive technical support throughout the entire process of researching, developing, and improving our raw materials.
• Continuously supporting the development of our formulations and technologies to ensure optimal quality and competitiveness.
• Collaborating closely with multiple departments, including development, marketing, sales, controlling, and supply chain, to ensure our products not only meet but also exceed customer expectations by aligning with market trends and customer needs.
• Partnering with our strategy team to monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring seamless support for the development and improvement of our suppliers within our portfolio.
• Being open to supplier technical visits and business travels around 30% of the time.
• Lead the procurement technical team in Asia Pacific effectively
• Hold a Master's degree, in a field relevant to chemistry, such as Chemical Engineering or Chemistry (preferred). PhD and MBA is a plus.
• Have a minimum of 8 years of experience in technical areas, preferred in coating industry, and have experience in commercial areas such as sales, marketing or procurement.
• Demonstrate extensive experience in project management activities.
• Demonstrate a proven ability to effectively lead teams with different culture background.
• Demonstrate a proven ability on global / regional project management with virtual team.
