Senior Engineer, EHS(007026)
• According to the general guidance developed on the basis of EHS mandatory requirements and Responsible Care ® principles and practices, lead the implementation of the EHS programs to ensure the compliance of company, corporate and mandatory requirements, and assure management’s initiatives for Environmental Protection, Sustainability and Energy Management and Occupational Health.
• Support and cooperate with manager and team to maintain an effective Environment & Energy system and keep improvement.
• Support manager to ensure environmental activity is in line with related laws and regulations.
• Proper implementation of the projects from the EHS perspective.
• Zero Environment incident
Main Responsibilities:
1. Environmental Protection management
• Establish and maintain management process and procedures for environment protection based on mandatory requirements and BASF Directive and Requirements.
• Identify and review environmental protection-related legal requirements, then update or create EHS procedures accordingly.
• Create & continually improve the procedures of waste gas emission/ wastewater/solid wastes/underground soil& water management with daily supervision.
• Establish an environmental monitoring plan and organize the implementation measurement
• Monitor the operation status of off-gas purification and wastewater treatment related Environmental Protection facilities and report abnormal situation to authorities, incl. online monitoring system.
• Plan and lead Environmental Protection regular reporting, incl. annual report to authority, pollutant discharge permit report, REHA report, solid waste regular report
• Establish and maintain Environmental Protection related Information disclosure in authority system.
• Work as REHSA data contributor.
• Lead the quarterly Environmental Protection tax calculation and approval of company.
• Implement and maintain ISO14001 certificate requirements within the company.
• Be responsible for the permit acquisition for environmental protection, e.g. EIA approval, discharging certificate.
• Keep close communication with relevant authorities.
• Coordinate authority flying check and monitoring.
2. Sustainability & Energy Management
• Develop the Roadmap of sustainability to achieve BASF & EC regions’ 2030 & 2050 CO2 target.
• Follow up the yearly and monthly CO2 emission data with deviation analysis to closely monitor the trend.
• Carry out the monthly energy data review with EM & Users Departments to closely monitor the trend.
• Work with EM & User department to identify and follow up the CO2 reduction & energy saving projects.
• Keep close communication with internal GB experts and external authorities regarding sustainability & energy management.
3. Occupational Health
• Declare an occupational disease hazard program to the authority on an annual basis, ensure all activities being legal compliant in BCTS, and fulfill the BASF and local requirements.
• Regularly conduct occupational diseases prevention supervision and occupational factors monitoring.
• Conduct health risk assessments and implement preventive measures, reasonable investment on occupational safety and health.
• Organize pre-job medical examinations for new employees, regular occupational medical examination for potential-exposed employees and maintain the documentation system.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree and above
• More than 8 years' experience in EHS management in chemical industries.
• Well understand product safety regulations, environmental protection regulations.
• Good understanding of RC system as well as ISO 14001 system.
• Experience to plan training programs and campaigns to upgrade EHS awareness
