Senior Chemist, Sun Care, Skin Solutions(005655)
• Develop new product and ingredient for single or multiple development assignments in Sun Care using existing and/or new technologies and methods.
• Conduct experimental works under guidance of project leader using existing single / multiple procedures and equipment in Skin Solutions product development lab.
• Contribute to system development and knowledge gain for BASF on novel Sun Care formulation technology development with IP protection.
= Main Tasks =
• Perform new product and ingredient development and application studies in sun care by using relevant techniques, and equipment.
• Operate suncare specific performance testing such as in vitro SPF/UVA-PF measurement, UV absorbance etc.
• Analyze and document results, prepare technical reports, examinations and summaries for sun care projects in Skin Solutions Lab.
• Actively contribute to technical solution finding process with new technologies and procedures in sun care application.
• Collaborate with internal and/or external research units to develop technology for new product / ingredients / system finding in sun care application.
• Prepare, run and maintain lab equipment in sun care lab.
• Instruct, supervise and coach less experienced lab team members.
• Perform general lab assignments (e. g. raw material inventory review, lab housekeeping, capex management) as assigned.
• Comply with regulations concerning safety, health and environment.
• Adapt and optimize methods and procedures according to the project requirements in sun care.
• Gain and maintain familiarity with relevant current scientific literature and patents.
= Job Requirements =
• Master in Chemistry / Applied Chemistry / Chemical Engineering or above
• Possess Cosmetics Formulation Experience, instrumental analysis, laboratory safety management, standard IT-applications
• Minimum 4years relevant working experience in skin care & sunscreen solutions
• Excellent English verbal and written communication
