Main Tasks:

Strategy:
1. Support the PMO strategy
- Coordinate and provide Asian input to the global strategic business unit (SBU) strategy development
- Build up market intelligence: market size, growth rates, trends
- Understand changes in the competitive environment. Analyze and present impacts to our business unit
- Consolidate the business case for Asia Pacific and support annual budget planning
2. Implementation of strategic measures to achieve targets
- Support the organization to implement new business models (new business processes, new sales capabilities, new production capabilities, etc.)
- Communicate the strategic measures to relevant parties to ensure smooth implementation
- Together with M&S, identify profitable business growth opportunities in existing markets

Projects:
Coordinate ad-hoc projects/demand that will arise coordination across PU segments

Value Based Business Management:
Develop a deep understanding of the value drivers. Communicate corrective measures and ensure timely implementation to meet targets.
1. Pricing: Support downstream SBU Prod. Management team and Industries in defining target margins and monitor margins development
2. Raw material cost: pre-empt cost escalation. Initiate pro-active substitution of key raw materials and engage procurement and internal suppliers. Provide input to Controlling for TP discussions with other ODs.
3. Support Controlling to develop an accurate cost allocation mechanism to ensure fair representation
of costing structure

Product Portfolio and Raw Material Management:
1. Support manufacturing network optimization
- Execute product transfers: work closely with technical product management, Operations, SCM
and Sales & Marketing to define manufacturing network optimization potential, plan implementation and execute.
- Manage the transfer of products to manufacturing hubs and ensure customer qualification by business team.
2. Raw material sourcing
- Proactively identify raw material cost optimization potential and ensure qualification
- Manage raw material supply risk areas and ensure 2nd/ 3rd source qualification together with technical product management
- In close co-operation with the other Prod. Management team where relevant, QM, Operations, SCM and Sales and Marketing and Procurement, ensure that the quality and performance of raw material is meeting the requirement of customers
- Support the discussion with procurement / suppliers to ensure the raw material requirements of responsible SBU is met (e.g. quality, price, supply points, logistics requirements etc)
3. Raw material handling across value chain
- Manage and optimize Polyol (both PESOL and PEOL) related raw material in each Polyol plant
- Close collaboration with plant and procurement for raw material optimization
- Close collaboration with PMU Prod. Manager to ensure demand for Polyol production
4. Product Portfolio management
Set-up and analyze business complexity indicators. Initiate corrective measures to meet targets:
- Propose activities to streamline portfolio of products
- Constantly review low margin business and design improvement measures
- Ensure prompt implementation of measures by Industry teams
5. Support portfolio development and nomenclature
6. Support new product introductions, product transfers across regions and product withdrawals
(plant allocation and risk assessment) and lead the communication to M&S
- Ensure that the relevant information is in place
- Initiate technical comparison where relevant
- Lead the preparation of communication package to sales team
7. Assures and validates product availability on sales and strategy forecast
8. Coordinates development and implementation of business rules for product allocation during shortages/ FM

Key shared accountabilities:
With OD
- Contributes to the SBU and regional strategy development
With Controlling
- Supports budget and investment planning, internal RM procurement
With PU Product Management, Industries and PD
- Consolidates the product road map for the respective SBU
- Contributes to product specific pricing strategies
- Approves product launches
With Production & SCM
- Contributes to the optimization of production capacity & capability
- Investigates and approves external production capacities (tolling)
- Defines level of inventory for raw materials and finished goods
With Product Stewardship
- Contributes to risk management for RM, FG
- Maintains MSDS, Master Data management

Main Requirements:-
- Possesses at least a Bachelor's Degree in Polymer Science/Chemical Engineering
- At least 10 years of working experience in plastics industry with more than 8 years in technical, quality or production function, preferably background in PU Chemistry & Polymer Science
- Strong marketing background and experience
- Strong Strategic and Analytical attributes
- Good communication skills
