Global Category Buyer, Intermediates & Renewables (007284)
• Global Category Buyer of chemical raw materials in the global team Procurement Functional Intermediates for Direct Procurement department.
• Ensure a competitive, sustainable and secured supply of raw materials to the internal business partners within the defined area of responsibility. Negotiate high-spend contracts and generate savings for BASFs divisions.
• Responsible for contributing to develop, implement and monitor strategy for regional categories
• Prepare and execute Request for Quotation (RfQ), Contract implementation & monitoring
• Category Management
• Lead sourcing projects and contributes in projects
• Execute Supplier Management
• Execute Category Risk Management
= Main Tasks =
Procurement Plan to Strategy:
• Responsible for contributing to procurement strategies for Global Categories:
• Provide input of Integrated Business Planning (iBP)’s needs and market knowledge (e.g. supply market structure and dynamics, strategies of suppliers, pricing structures, opportunities and threats) to Regional Category Manager
• Support Global Category Manager on strategy development (e.g. strategic goals, strategic options, implementation plan)
• Strategy implementation & follow-up: tackle action items
Procurement Source to Contract:
• Prepare and execute Request for X (RfX) within boundaries set by Global Category Manager (scope , RfX type and approach, iBP requirements, roles for negotiation, list of suppliers, alternatives to negotiated agreement
• Evaluate incoming offers
• Negotiation & contract award: determine optimal negotiation / award alternative, award goods to supplier(s)
• Contract implementation & monitoring: manage contracts and decide on appropriate actions; inform relevant parties (e.g. Shared Service Center, iBP) about negotiation results; manage supply issues and/or sales allocation/force majeure situations
• Implement appropriate actions for end-to-end margin management
• Escalation point for Non‑Conformance Management (NCM) management
• Collect required documents from supplier(s) for master data processes
• Approve PO / Contracts in SAP
Others:
• Functional Responsibility: being led by Global Category Manager oversea
• Provide input to Internal Business Partner Relationship Management (iBPRM) Account Manager
• Execute Supplier Management, manage relationships with key suppliers, evaluate supplier performance, drive supplier innovation
• Execute Risk Management approach with appropriate actions
• Reporting of Results
= Job Requirements =
• Education: Master degree preferred, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• Working Experience: 4 years or above, preferably in a business /procurement position
• Strong negotiation skills
• Knowledge of chemicals suppliers, market environment, products and technologies
• Knowledge of procurement processes and guidelines preferred
• Excellent in English
• Good IT skills (e.g. SAP R/3 Cobalt, SAP Business Warehouse)
