=Objectives of the Position=
- Primary focus of this role is to be accountable and responsible for leading and driving sales volume development, price and margin growth for Engineering Plastics business in China in alignment with regional BM EP strategy and in line with company Code of Conduct principles
- Secondary focus is to lead the diverse team in China to develop and grow new customers / new business / new applications for EP by implementing and executing strategies and activities with aimed at growth to increase profitable contribution to regional business targets in alignment to regional BM EP.
- Supports and implements regional strategies for China on key strategic initiatives, such as investment, business restructuring, distribution management, sustainability etc.
- Defines country strategies to drive growth and accountable on the business performance in the country and track market development and trends
- Establishes and foster strong, long-lasting customer relationships to ensure sustainable business growth.
- Drives talent development and succession planning

=Responsibilities=
1. Drives the profitable business growth for Engineering Plastics China:
- Prepares budget and oversees expenditures to ensure cost effectiveness of all Sales/TD activities
- Fully responsible and accountable for country’s profitable business growth
- Drives and supports assets optimization in the country in the alignment with regional initiatives
- Leads the team to provide accurate Sales forecasting
- Drives development and implementation of segment, application, product & customer strategy to achieve sales targets
- Steers resources in accordance with strategies and TD service level plans and in line with customer management (segmentation, business rules)
- Explores, identifies and develops new businesses
- Establishes and fosters relationships with strategic customers
- Supports launch of new products at key customers
- Coordinates CS activities in sales relevant processes
- Manages overall China Engineering Plastics' cost in line with budget
- Contributes to elaboration of marketing strategies
- Represents the company in trade and professional organizations to stay in touch with market trends

2. Innovations, Sustainability, Embrace Digitalization
- Accelerates Innovation to achieve innovation sales target
- Live Sustainability: supports the Implementation of A-PMA/E Sustainability Roadmap in Greater China with projects acquired which includes Chemcycling, Mechanical Recycling, BMB solutions, Bio based Materials
- Embraces Digitalization: Enhances aligned use of salesforce Implement and enhances the use of PM Wechat China platform for promoting more new applications, technical webinar, and customer interaction

3. Credit Management
- Monitors the growth of the customers' business, reviews and coordinates with credit management to assure appropriate credit recommendations.
- Leads the team to monitor and follow up on payment collections and ensures customer’s on-time payment

4. Industry Team Support
- Drives key account plan and strategy for dedicated customers and OEMs (under TAC) to drive cross OD approach

5. People Management:
- Provides leadership to the Sales, Commercial Management, Business Development, OEM and TD team (incl. KA teams),
- Contributes to manpower and succession planning
- Develops and retains a competent business team per business needs


Main Requirements:
- Possess at least a Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Polymer, Chemistry or equivalent, such as Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
- Min. 10 Years of leadership experience in leading team with successful business performance; Strong ability to identify opportunities or problem, and formulate and implement strategy/actions accordingly; Strong in establishing & fostering customer relationships; Ability to create impact in making deals by establishing and utilizing high-level contacts in customer companies; Strong sales & marketing background & business experience in engineering plastics; Good conflict management; Good networker (needs to mobilize resources in across the BASF group)
- Strategic business project experience is plus, such as investment and expansion
- 10-15 years of experience in Engineering Plastics, automotive industry is preferred
