Assistant Manager, Stakeholder Relations(005656)
• Position BASF as a leader in sustainability in China among key stakeholders focusing on NGOs
• Drive BASF’s Societal Engagement activities in China
• Strengthen relationships and facilitate dialogue with key stakeholders
Main Tasks
• Drive Societal Engagement activities and stakeholder relations in Greater China
• Provide Societal Engagement and NGO relations consultancy for the business and functional leaders in China
• Conceptualize and ensure implementation of Societal Engagement activities (Corporate Citizenship and Starting Ventures) in Greater China
• Support major sites in China to set up and implement Community Advisory Panel (CAP) activities
• Build and strengthen relationships with BASF's stakeholders with focus on NGOs, industry associations, neighbors and officials
• Contribute Societal Engagement content to local reporting, editorials, multimedia, case studies, presentations on internal and external communication platforms
• Protect and defend BASF's reputation by strategic issue management, effective communication of critical topics
• Identify platforms and develop award applications to improve BASF's public recognition in areas of sustainability and Societal Engagement
• Enhance BASF's sustainability leadership through partnership with and/or speaking opportunities at global and local organizations such as UN organizations, Chinese authorities and industry associations, EU and German Chambers
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant areas (e.g. social work and public administration)
• Extensive experienced in corporate communications with degrees in communications, public relations, and languages will be considered as well
• 6-8 years' working experience, with at least 3 years tracked experience in CSR, Sustainability, and Communications
• Experience in planning and implementing large-scale societal engagement/CSR projects and well connected with relevant organizations
• Deep understanding of current CSR and sustainability trends and relevant policies with great passion
• Strong ownership, good interpersonal communication skills, and work interpedently with multiple stakeholders
