Assistant Manager, Global Material Flow, Intermediates Asia Pacific
Objectives of the Position
- Responsible for ramping up and growing BASF Intermediates’ technology licensing business in selected subregion of Asia Pacific, mainly India and ASEAN
Main Tasks
- To develop customized technology license packages, including engineering services and catalysts supply, for licensees constructing production plants using BASF technologies.
- To build and maintain long-term relationships with industry partners (licensees, engineering partners, vendors) to enhance BASF’s business on a global scale
- To collect, monitor, analyze and share competitive intelligence to gain competitive advantage for BASF
- To represent BASF in industry associations, conferences, trade shows, customers events etc. through presenting technical and/or industry-relevant topics and networking
- To collaborate with other BASF business units including Catalysts, Engineering, Intellectual Property and Global Intermediates Technology (EVC, GE, GBI and CIS/T) to present BASF’s package offerings to the licensees
- To negotiate technology license contracts (TLCs) and ancillary agreements required to conclude licensing deals. Negotiations involve both technical and commercial aspects (e.g. license fee).
- To take on special projects/initiatives as required
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering
- MBA or post-graduate degree is an advantage
- Extensive (10 years) experience in engineering service, preferably in petrochemical or chemical plants
- Experience in technical marketing and sales; advanced negotiation skills preferred
- High degree of knowledge related to the engineering and design (pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Engineering) of chemical plants
