Objectives of the Position

  • Coordinating and monitoring production processes of Dispersions Plant (Polyline 1 – 45 kt and Polyline 2 – 55 kt), Pasir Gudang under the directions of Plant Manager - Dispersions.
  • Managing production and striving for excellence in Safety, Cost, Quality, Productivity and Moral aspects.
  • Ensuring smooth functioning of production plants by coordinating with required support and service functions.
  • Lead Safety, Health and Environment at workplace.
  • Responsible for reviewing the performance of the team members and appraise them.

Main Tasks

Related to Production

  • Coordinate and manage production with consistent quality as per the target.
  • Monitor process flow, capacity utilization, safety at the workplace, downtime due to breakdowns, and availability of resources for achieving required productivity.
  • Plan the production schedule on a daily/monthly basis with coordinate with Supply Chain team, quality department & Engineering.
  • Continuous improvement of processes in coordination with the Plant Manager - Dispersions and quality control to reduce batch cycle times, increase yields, increase operational ease and ultimately lead to cost-effective production.
  • Guiding Production Team in the plant continuously to ensure product quality of international standard.
  • Act as a Plant Incharge in the absence of Plant Manager - Dispersions.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting activities during production issues occurrence (including after working hours).
  • To contribute as a member of PDP’s Investment Project Team and to verify whether the findings of the team are technically feasible from Production Department’s point of view.

Related for EHS

  • Responsible for safe operation in Dispersions Plant.
  • Drive improvement projects namely 6S, OpEx & Capex along with the team & providing necessary information/training.
  • Monitor safety performance in the plant through the implementation of different EHS practices, and procedures specified in the RCMS manual. Analyze the gap in safety performance and provide relevant tools, and resources to close the gap.
  • Implement the Safety, Health and Environment system of the plant concerning man and equipment.
  • Guide shop floor personnel towards SHE (Safety, Health and Environment), Responsible Care, Cleanliness of the plant (5S) and discipline for improving the BASF’s safe work culture. This ensures compliance with BASF’s statutory requirements, which also includes the training of the subordinates regarding the safety aspects and handling of critical monomers /hazardous chemicals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 8+ Years (with 5+ years’ experience in Chemical Industry
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge:
    • Strong fundamentals in Chemical engineering
    • Good interpersonal, leadership and time management skills with ability to interact in a multiple hierarchical level.
    • Continuous improvement techniques and methods including, overall asset effectiveness, statistical techniques.
