Team Leader Insecticide research 1

In our team of Insecticide Chemistry you will work on the identification and development of highly effective, innovative chemical crop protection active ingredients designed to meet global market needs. From day one, you will integrate a diverse, international and multi-disciplinary team. You will be trained on the job and be supported by experts as well as other newer team members to address challenging and exciting scientific targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Lead an organic synthesis laboratory team.
• Design of active ingredients, their synthesis with the laboratory team, analysis of their biological activity and use structure-activity relationships to initiate new designs.
• Drive multiparameter optimizations, applying medicinal chemistry concepts at the interface of fungi and plants.
• Navigate at the frontiers of chemistry, modeling, biology, agronomy, regulatory and intellectual property.
• Work along with the team on modern technologies and stay abreast of new developments (organic synthesis, drug discovery, competitor activities).
• Network with academia, scientific partners and technology providers

QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced knowledge in organic chemical synthesis with a PhD in chemistry, medicinal chemistry or related
• Postdoc and experience abroad as well as in crop protection or pharmaceutical research are all an advantage but not essential
• Strong Communication skills, fluency in English
• Have a mindset of creativity, curiosity and enthusiasm to drive innovations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop innovative solutions in a diverse team
