Objectives:
In our unit Digital Laboratory, we collaborate with our internal partners to drive the digitalization of the laboratory from seamless laboratory device connectivity to modern laboratory data management solutions.
As part of the Digital Laboratory product family, the Laboratory Solutions China product team advances key laboratory digitalization solutions and supports various aspects of digital laboratory processes.
As Product Manager for Laboratory Solutions China, you are responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a multidisciplinary team and you closely collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Your team provides and enhances secure, reliable, and cost-effective digital solutions to various laboratory user communities in China.
- You closely collaborate with various product teams within Global Digital Services and drive the agile development of the product team.
Main Tasks:
- Lead and develop a team of about 8 experts with locations in Shanghai, Nanjing, and Zhanjiang.
- In close collaboration, consult and support internal partners and diverse laboratory groups in the digitization of their processes and the optimization of digital workflows.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance local digital laboratory solutions.
- Procure and coordinate local external providers and partners.
- Support global and local projects in laboratory digitalization
Job Requirements:
- Degree in natural sciences, computer science, or a comparable education.
- Minimum 5 years’ related working experience.
- Agile way of working or agile implementation approach.
- Working in global teams.
- Experience in laboratory digitalization projects.
- Several years of professional experience in digital laboratory processes and/or data management.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Strong negotiation skills, as well as excellent planning, organization, and implementation abilities combined with a strong sense of organizational awareness.
- Customer-centric, entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions.
- Fluent English communication skills

Digital Hub China was founded in 2020 in Nanjing. As part of the Global Digital Hub Verbund, the hub is rapidly growing with a target of a three-digit number of employees in coming years. Focused on digitalization and innovative IT solutions to enhance BASF’s IT portfolio and expertise in China, it brings an all-around capable team of digital talents to create solutions in the context of China’s unique digital landscape to BASF. It also contributes to the smart manufacturing endeavors for the new mega project in Zhanjiang.
