Objectives:
Global Digital Services (GDS) is supporting BASF business in Digitalization transformation. Our MISSION is to drive forward the digital transformation of BASF, providing innovative, global and high-quality digital products and services through a strong agile culture.
Act as a Global / Regional representative of BASF Digital community, supporting BASF Digital roadmap, helping Global Digital Services (GDS) to identify, execute and implement customer-centric digital solutions in an actionable and measurable way.
Main Task:
As part of the Strategy and Enterprise Architecture team, you will take over an active role in the coordination, specification, design, and evaluation of enterprise architecture related topics.
- You will collect and manage enterprise architecture requirements globally with focus on China's digital ecosystem in BASF.
- You will lead and drive the Architecture Community in China.
- Work with various communities to define architecture guardrails for China's digital ecosystem.
- You will address the local business needs in China and bridge gaps between global and local solutions.
- You will actively participate in different communities and support communication in enterprise architecture.
- Establish a proactive guiding role by communicating architectural direction broadly to ensure alignment from the start.
- Define and govern architectural standards, tools, methodologies, and blueprints for consistency and quality.
- Facilitate collaboration across architectural community to optimize the IT landscape, ensuring seamless integration and business strategy alignment.
- Ensure enterprise / solution architects in China have opportunities for training, hands-on work, and certifications to stay current with technological advancements.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology or in a comparable field.
- Minimum 4 years related working experience in the required technical & professional requirements below.
- Experience in leading an architecture community.
- Expertise in architecture design principles and architecture tooling platform.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities across various levels.
- Ability to drive innovation and foster collaboration across teams and domains.
- Knowledge at least in one business process or functional area.
- Good interpersonal skills within an international team and fluent in English.
Nice to have:
- Experience / Knowledge of LeanIX and TOGAF is a plus.
- Basic knowledge about DevOps, integration patterns, and APIs is a plus.
- Experience in Agile ways of working or agile implementation approach.

Digital Hub China was founded in 2020 in Nanjing. As part of the Global Digital Hub Verbund, the hub is rapidly growing with a target of a three-digit number of employees in coming years. Focused on digitalization and innovative IT solutions to enhance BASF’s IT portfolio and expertise in China, it brings an all-around capable team of digital talents to create solutions in the context of China’s unique digital landscape to BASF. It also contributes to the smart manufacturing endeavors for the new mega project in Zhanjiang.
