Production Manager
Objectives of the Position
Responsible in managing daily production operations to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality production of products, while also focusing on training production personnel, optimizing procedures, and ensuring compliance.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure all environmental, health and safety rules and guidelines are fully adhered and maintaining high safety standards for a safe working environment.
- Plan, organize, and manage daily production activities to ensure that production schedules and target quantities are met.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Production Superintendent, Production Supervisors, Boardmen and technicians fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Conduct periodic training, performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs for team members (including succession planning for roles Boardman and above).
- Facilitate effective communication within the production team and across departments.
- Perform internal audits to support ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO 50001 standards.
- Implement and uphold quality control measures to maintain product quality requirements and consistency within production team.
- Coordinate production trials, test and implement recommendations from Toray to improve plant operation and product quality as and when required (via MOC process).
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- At least 7 years of experience in production management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in polymerization and distillation processes.
Technical & Professional Knowledge
- Proven experience leading teams and managing production operations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (English & Bahasa Malaysia)
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive and results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
