Global Digital Services is supporting BASF business in Digitalization transformation. Our mission is to drive forward the digital transformation of BASF, providing innovative, global and high-quality digital products and services through a strong agile culture. The Digital Hub Nanjing is one of our global key locations to deliver regional and global solutions for BASF.


Within the Group “Operational Planning & Scheduling” as part of BASF’s “SC Planning & Visibility”, we drive BASF’s overall Digitalization and contribute to the convenient, efficient, and innovative usage of planning software within BASF. Our team deliver rollout projects and ongoing support for planning solutions around the globe. 


Your main responsibilities include:  

 

  • You are responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting PP/DS on S/4 HANA. 
  • Convert the APO PP/DS customer template into an S/4 greenfield system. 
  • Support and adjust the S/4 planning landscape after go-live over the next years. 
  • Understand and refine PP/DS requirements. Align with developers, test, document and present the functionality to internal BASF planners in sprint review meetings.  

 

Main Tasks

 

  • System Integration: Ensure readiness for interface with BW (business warehouse) and MABAS (master data system), and integration between current Supply Chain Demand Planning Solution with S/4 HANA
  • Data Management: Define PP/DS related data structure, process, and interface from existing systems to future systems, including ECC to S/4 HANA system
  • Development: Develop solutions in case existing interfaces are not working after S/4 HANA is live
  • Testing and Support: Conduct testing in DEV & ACC environments, provide cutover support for integration from OMP to S4 HANA, and offer go-live support
  • Performance Assessment: Evaluate the performance of custom code after switching to S4 HANA 

 

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain management, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science or a related field.  
  • Excellent communication skills in English. 
  • An expert in supply chain planning environment with a focus on Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) with at least 5-year experience.  
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a self-organized way, quickly buildup knowledge on BASF specific supply chain planning processes. 
  • Open mindset to educate yourself in upcoming technologies.  
  • Technical interested to read and debug ABAP code. 
  • General Capabilities: 
    • Strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. 
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop solutions for complex integration issues.  
    • Effective communication skills to coordinate with various stakeholders and ensure alignment with project goals.
    • Comfortable working in highly complex environment with multiple stakeholders and with strong pressure to deliver on time and on budget. 
    • Analytical thinking, Excellent communication skills in English with customers/Internal business partners
    • Embraces uncertainties and is not afraid to challenge status quo.
