Summary:
In the product team Legal, Tax & Compliance you consult our Internal Business Partners as well as operating divisions or service units in technical questions of legal, tax and compliance topics.
The DevOps Engineer understands functional solution designs and translates them into technical designs and realization. You are responsible for the design and development of functional or technical applications or the enhancements to existing applications. You have deep knowledge in SAP PaPM, in the implementation and development of new software and in database technology. You are expert in different programming languages (e.g. ABAP, SQL, JAVAScript) and ideally you have also good knowledge in the role as Agility Master/SCRUM Master.
Responsibilities and Key Activities:
- Management of complex development environments using both internal and external resources
- Knowledge in the relations of different tax and finance business processes related to SAP R/3 and S/4
- Technical and functional design and implementation of application enhancements and new applications for SAP PaPM
- Development of those application by using state-of-the-art design and programming methods and ensuring compliance with all relevant BASF guidelines for development
- Ensures runnable, supportable, and stable solutions from a technical point of view together with operations
- Contributes to planning and provides cost estimations for complex projects
- Supports creation of (functional) Solution Design Documents
- Supports testing and error correction activities
- Contributes to act according to the agile values and principles
- Self-organized working within our product-oriented working approach
- Experience in agile methodologies e.g. SCRUM, KANBAN etc.
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required with preference in Information Technology
- At least three years of professional experience in a Technical or Business Consultant role, as software designer, developer, or consultant
Technical & Professional Knowledge (mandatory):
- Experience in development and/or modelling in SAP PaPM
- Experience in working with Eclipse
- Experience in leading a workstream in a project as a lead consultant
- Strong knowledge in database design and development
- Knowledge of SAP E2E process of VAT related activities
- General knowledge about taxation (also in SAP - common tables, fields, transactions, etc.)
- Good innovative orientation
- Open to learn new technologies and collect new skills
Technical & Professional Knowledge (additional plus/nice to have skills):
- Experience with SAP Fiori (or similar Application)
- Object oriented programming skills
- Experience with BOPF (Business Object Processing Framework)
- Experience with data replication (e.g. SDI, SLT)
- Good knowledge about EDI, IDoc and ABAP-Proxy communication
- Knowledge in UI5, Fiori, ABAP OO or JAVA
