Product Safety and Regulatory Manager

Objectives of the Position
- Drive Product Safety & Regulatory services and compliance strategies for the Asia Pacific region through close collaboration with peers.
- Act as a key regulatory expert interfacing with stakeholders, including technical experts across countries and regions, to enable the effective implementation of compliance policies.
- Lead regulatory improvement projects at regional level, in alignment with global frameworks, and ensure effective and sustainable change management.
Main Tasks
- Lead regulatory improvement projects across regions, including fit-gap analysis and implementation.
- Ensure effective implementation of Product Safety measures for BASF entities across Asia Pacific.
- Collaborate closely with Global and Regional Product Safety teams to enable sound solution implementation in Product Safety systems and applications.
- Partner closely with divisional operations leads to ensure sustainable change management and execution.
- Generate effective monthly project documentation and maintain related records for monitoring and management reporting.
- Actively participate in Product Safety knowledge exchange platforms to support best practice sharing via online and on-site channels.
- Prepare high-quality Microsoft PowerPoint presentations for stakeholder communication and reporting.
Requirements
Education
- University degree, Master/ PhD degree in scientific area, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline
Working Experience
- At least 10 years in chemical regulation, product regulatory affairs or relevant work experience in Product Safety and Stewardship activities
Technical & Professional Knowledge
- Strong professional expertise in Product Safety, Chemical Safety, and Hazard Communication, including GHS hazard classification, global GHS implementation, SDS authoring and technical review, chemical hazard and risk assessment, toxicological and ecotoxicological data interpretation, and dangerous goods classification.
- Proven experience in regulatory compliance across international chemical control frameworks, including EU REACH and REACH‑like regulations, regulatory dossier management, regulatory horizon scanning, impact assessment, and application‑specific compliance requirements.
- Solid digital and data‑driven capabilities in Product Compliance, including hands‑on experience with SAP EH&S Product Compliance, SDS generation, regulatory content management, and chemical regulatory database management.
- Digitalisation‑related competencies and experience with system‑enabled process improvement are considered an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for professional presentation development and management reporting.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and functions.
- Detail‑oriented, proactive, and able to work independently in a structured and dynamic environment.
