This position serves as a regional steering of BASF’s Import/Export and Customs Broker Management across Asia Pacific, driving strategic governance, operational excellence, and end‑to‑end performance management for 3PLs and customs brokers. Focused on regional harmonization, transparency, and continuous improvement. This position enables BASF to safeguard supply reliability, ensure compliance, and deliver value across markets.
Main Tasks
Regional Steering & Governance
- Lead the regional steering framework for 3PL and Customs Broker performance, ensuring transparency, governance discipline, and alignment with BASF global standards.
- Develop and maintain regional visibility model for service scopes, performance dashboards, and compliance adherence across all APAC countries.
- Serve as the strategic interface between LLP, 3PLs, Customs Brokers, and BASF internal functions, ensuring seamless process linkages and clarity in responsibilities
Performance Management & Continuous Improvements
- Define and monitor KPIs, SLAs, PI targets, and performance expectations for logistics partners across the region.
- Lead regional performance reviews, gather country inputs and identify improvement opportunities and structural gaps.
- Act as the primary escalation contact for 3PL operations and custom broker operation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives targeting cost efficiency, service quality, and operational resilience.
Service & Operational Excellence
- Drive adherence to contractual commitments, service scopes, and BASF compliance standards (EHS, security, regulatory), ensuring consistent and disciplined execution across all countries.
- Lead the structured resolution of escalations and systemic challenges, transforming recurring issues into regional improvement actions through strong collaboration with country OVM and IE teams.
- Coordinate regional crisis response and resilience planning—including risk assessments, cross‑border contingency alignment, and follow‑up on critical logistics incidents with service partners.
Compliance & Risk Management (Regional Steering Focus)
- Steer a unified compliance landscape by ensuring all 3PLs and Customs Brokers across the region operate in line with local, regional, and international regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and harmonize risk management practices related to transport partners, customs operations, and cross‑border movements, safeguarding BASF’s supply continuity and regulatory standing.
Cross-Functional & Supplier Collaboration
- Act as the regional liaison to align OVM/IE teams on standard ways of working and share best practices.
- Provide strategic input to Procurement, Legal, and business units for tenders, contract renewals, and review
- Provide operational and cross‑functional support; perform other tasks as assigned to meet BASF objectives.
- Serve as backup for team members and line manager for service‑provider management and import‑export operations as required.
