Objectives of the Position

 

Join our Digital Laboratory Product Team and shape the future of digitalization in Research and Development (R&D).

 

Main Tasks

 

  • You will be part of different DevOps teams that develop Laboratory Data Management Systems (LIMS) solutions for chemists and biologists in R&D and in close interaction with external suppliers.
  • You support and advise our partners on complex IT application issues as well as on the digitization and automation of laboratory processes.
  • You will actively participate in the support and maintenance of LIMS applications for our R&D partners and solution landscape.
  • You will drive the investigation and solutioning to issues and new requirements for our global LIMS solutions.
  • You assist the implementation teams from time to time in setting up customer environments, rolling out of new application builds as well as support and conduct application testing.

 

Requirements

 

Education

  • Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology, or related discipline

 

Working Experience

  • At least 3 years of practical experience in the support of IT systems in the laboratory area; LIMS system in particular. Experience with other laboratory system(s) is a plus

 

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory)

  • You have experience in support of LIMS system. Experience in LabVantage LIMS is preferred, but other LIMS background would qualify as well.
  • You should be able to gather requirements from different lab owners and able to connect it to functionalities within LIMS.
  • You should be able to offer modifications to the technical configuration and business process to achieve desired outcome of project/customer requirements.
  • You have experience in Labelling and Reporting Tools (Preferably Jasper Report).
  • You have experience in Java, J2EE, Java script or any other web application development.
  • You have experience in SQL/Oracle database (Queries, Procedures, Triggers, View creation, etc)
  • You have a good understanding of common Ticketing tools (e.g. JIRA, ServiceNow) and ITIL support process such as Request Fulfilment, Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management
  • You proactively solve issues which are logged in the ticketing tool.
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and provide solutions to a diverse range of complex issues and requirements.
  • You are willing to adapt to changes to technology and learn new technology/application on demand. 
  • You value user satisfaction driven by excellent user experience.
  • You have a growth mindset with a curiosity to learn and improve to foster a positive and energized culture.
  • You are a team player with collaborative mindset, willing share knowledge across the team.
  • You have excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.

 

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Additional)

  • Experience in LIMS implementation or upgrade project.
  • Experience in supporting laboratory instrument interface for simple and complex instruments (e.g. CDS systems). 
  • Good understanding of application server (e.g. JBoss); experience working with Linux or Windows-based software packages and tools.
  • Knowledge in the support of Microsoft and Linux OS client and server systems.
  • Knowledge in system interface with ERP systems such as SAP
  • Experience in managing end to end project delivery.
  • Experience in process mapping, gap analysis and driving improvements.
  • Knowledge of working in regulated environments (e.g., GLP, GMP, ISO).
  • Available during weekend for maintenance and patching activities when requirement arise.
