Import Export Asia Pacific (Executive)
Objectives of the Position
- Provide end-to-end operational support for import and export shipments across APAC, ensuring on-time execution, documentation accuracy, and compliance with global trade regulations.
- Act as the coordination hub between suppliers, logistics service providers , Business Units, and customs brokers to deliver reliable, compliant, and cost-effective shipping operations.
- Managing and maintenance of import export and customs operations, handling relevant administrative activities, reporting, and documentation processes for the assigned countries
- Archiving all applicable documentation in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines
- Proactively escalate cases of deviations in transportation activities to bring shipment back on track in meeting defined and agreed delivery dates
- Meet defined service levels and any agreed qualitative requirements pertaining to core transportation and documentation scope of work
- Support monitoring and evaluation of service provider’s performance referring to agreed KPIs and conduct periodic quality reviews
Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities
- Responsible for logistics fulfilment processes (including SAP TM maintenance and process adherence) for all import and export shipments by working closely with the country import export & customs teams and hub-based overseas delivery services community
- Responsible for analyzing issues and managing where possible, escalating to country and/or Hub import export & customs teams for attention or improvements required
- Non-conformances management (NCM) and issue log maintenance and ensure reported issues are addressed with corrective action (if applicable)
- Consolidate, prepare and verify import export & customs operational reports to management and other relevant stakeholders
- Participate in system and new process flow testing where required
- Initiate continuous improvement initiatives and issue resolution of supply chain issues pertaining inbound and outbound transportation management on behalf of assigned countries.
- Participation in import export community meetings / activities where required and support service provider management and service delivery performance in assigned countries from global services hub
Other responsibilities
- All other tasks as assigned relevant to meeting BASF and the objectives as outlined above.
- Assumes back up responsibility for team member/line manager for service provider management and import export operations as required
Requirements
Education
- Degree / Diploma (with relevant work experience) in Logistics/Supply Chain/Business Management or related field
Working Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in handling Import/Export logistics with customs and trade compliance background, liaison with logistics service providers. Experience in SAP and chemical industry preferred
Technical & Professional Knowledge
- Efficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Basic understanding on Import & Export regulations.
- Knowledge in SAP system (TM/ SD/ MM Module) is preferred. Experience on using Cobalt or S4 Hana.
- Proactive team members who take ownership and show persistence to achieve results and exceed expectations.
- Ability to work independently on problem solving and identifying solutions.
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player
- Good command of written and spoken English is necessity.
