Objectives of the Position
- Managing and maintenance of all inbound and outbound Transportation management and documentation processes in support of assigned countries
- Archiving of all applicable documentation in accordance to company and regulatory guidelines
- Proactively escalate cases of deviations in transportation activities to bring shipment back on track in meeting defined and agreed delivery dates
- Meet defined service levels and any agreed qualitative requirements pertaining core transportation and documentation scope of work
- Support monitoring and evaluation of service provider’s performance referring to agreed KPIs and conduct periodic quality reviews
Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities
- Responsible on logistics fulfilment processes (including SAP TM maintenance and process adherence) for all import and export shipments by working closely with country import export team and hub-based overseas delivery services community
- Monitor, analyze, and manage operational issues where possible, and escalate to the appropriate country team, import/export stakeholders, or Team Lead for resolution and process improvement.
- Manage non-conformances (NCM), maintain issue logs, and ensure corrective actions are implemented where applicable.
- Coordinate and monitor BASF import and export shipments to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Participating in system and new process flow testing where required.
- Initiate continuous improvement initiatives and issue resolution of supply chain issues pertaining inbound and outbound transportation management on behalf of assigned countries.
- Participation in import export community meetings / activities where required and support service provider management and service delivery performance in assigned countries from global services hub
- Other tasks and activities as assigned, relevant to the competency and skillset of this role and for development purposes
- Manage BASF import export shipment monitoring and coordination.
- Work closely with service providers and 3PL partners to ensure smooth import and export arrangements, timely customs clearance, and effective information flow.
- Act as the primary contact point for service providers and CSO, maintaining strong working relationships and ensuring timely updates on any related issues.
- Responsible to analyze issues and manage where possible, escalating to Team Lead for attention or improvements required
- Manage all non-trade Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders for related services.
Requirements
Education
- Degree / Diploma (with relevant work experience) in Logistics/Supply Chain/Business Management or related field
- Japanese language study or language proficiency certification preferred
Working Experience
- 1-3 years in handling Import/Export logistics / order management & documentation, liaison with logistics service providers. Experience in SAP and chemical industry preferred
Technical & Professional Knowledge
- Efficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Knowledge in SAP system / S4Hana(Transport Management & Material Management Module) preferred
- Proactive team member who takes ownership and shows persistence to achieve results and exceed expectations
- Ability to work independently on problem solving and identifying solutions
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player
- Good command of written and spoken English and Japanese is necessity
