Objectives of the Position         

  1. Be responsible for leading and managing all engineering and maintenance activities at the Kitatone Site to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operation.
  2. Be responsible to lead and manage Engineering & Maintenance team.
  3. Be a Responsible Person for RC Code 10
  4. Be a deputy to Site Manager Role In case of site manager absence.

 

Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities

Responsibility

Maintenance Strategy

Develop and implement site-wide maintenance strategies, integrating BASF requirement, RBM and other approaches to balance risk, cost, and reliability.

CAPEX Projects

Plan and execute capital investment (CAPEX) projects, including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, quality, and safety management.

Team Leadership

Lead and develop the E&M team, including performance management, training, and fostering a high-performance culture.

EHS & Compliance

Ensure full compliance with BASF standards and Japanese regulations (e.g., High Pressure Gas Safety Act, Fire Service Act, Labor Safety).

Stakeholder Coordination

Collaborate with site production, SHE, QA, and regional/global engineering teams.

Vendor Management

Select, contract, and supervise external service providers; ensure quality and performance of outsourced work.

Technical Documentation

Ensure up-to-date and accurate maintenance documentation, including P&IDs, equipment records, and compliance files.

Continuous Improvement

Drive maintenance optimization through reliability engineering, condition monitoring, and digital tools (e.g., predictive maintenance).

 

 

Job Requirements (minimum requirement to carry out the work)

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process Engineering, etc.)

Working Experience

Minimum 10 years in related field

Minimum 3 years in a team leadership or managerial capacity

Technical & Professional Knowledge

Administration skill and knowledge.

Knowledge of Japanese industrial laws and regulations (e.g., HP Gas Act, Fire Act, Labor Safety Act)

Fluent Japanese

Business-level proficiency in English (TOEIC 700+ or equivalent)

責任

  • メンテナンス戦略: BASFグローバル基準に合わせた、およびリスク、コスト、信頼性のバランスのとれた工場全体のメンテナンス戦略を策定し、実施すること。
  • プロジェクト管理: スコープ設定、予算管理、スケジュール管理、品質および安全管理を含む資本投資(CAPEX)プロジェクトを計画し、実行すること。
  • チームリーダーシップ: E&Mチームをリードし、パフォーマンス管理、トレーニング、高パフォーマンス文化の育成を行うこと。
  • EHSおよびコンプライアンス: BASFの基準および日本の規制(例:高圧ガス保安法、消防法、労働安全)を完全に遵守すること。
  • ステークホルダー調整: 工場の生産、SHE、QA、および地域/グローバルエンジニアリングチームと協力すること。
  • ベンダー管理: 外部サービスプロバイダーの選定、契約、監督を行い、アウトソーシング作業の品質とパフォーマンスを確保すること。
  • 技術文書: P&ID、機器記録、コンプライアンスファイルを含む最新かつ正確なメンテナンス文書を確保すること。
  • 継続的改善: 信頼性工学、状態監視、デジタルツール(例:予知保全)を通じてメンテナンスの最適化を推進すること。
  • ピープルマネジメント:2人のメンバーのマネジメント

職務要件(業務を遂行するための最低要件)

  • 教育: 工学の学士号(機械工学、電気工学、化学工学、プロセス工学など)。
  • 職務経験: 関連分野での最低10年の経験、チームリーダーまたは管理職(ピープルマネージャー)としての最低3年の経験。
  • 技術的および専門的知識: 行政スキルと知識、日本の産業法および規制(例:高圧ガス法、消防法、労働安全法)に関する知識。
  • ビジネスレベルの英語力: TOEIC 700点以上または同等の能力。
