Assistant Manager, Technology, Asia Pacific

Objectives:

• Responsible for supporting implementation of formulation technology transfer to own sites and contract manufacturers (CM) in APA including consistency check and update of technical database.
• Responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting to own sites and contract manufacturers, support as technology subject matter expert in terms of chemical handling and process related topics.
• Support Senior Manager, Technology, Asia Pacific for all FFP (Formulation, Filling & Packaging) projects (both Capital Investment and Operational Excellence) at APA own sites and contract manufacturers
• Support in updating/ aligning APA Formulants strategy with APA Operations and Global Formulant teams, including implementation of follow up actions on Formulant Risk Management and cost optimization initiative.

Main Tasks:

Technical Management 

• Facilitate formulation technology transfer to own sites and contract manufacturers in APA in collaboration with APT/TF, APR/D, APT/Q, APA/OP (Site Managers and/or Sub-regional Contract Manufacturing Managers) for both existing and new product introductions, ensure high standard of reliability and integrity for own sites and contract manufacturers.
• Provide technical input and solutions on APA FFP Asset Strategy development, ensuring alignment with APA Business and AP FFP Asset Strategies.
• Provide support to own sites and contract manufacturers in terms of root cause analysis and resolving FFP technical problems, reviewing FFP procedures, proactively identify potential capacity issues and propose mitigation measures.
• Lead development/ update of Formulation Manufacturing Manual (FMM), review operation record, and work with Global Quality Management to ensure consistency between recipes being registered and produced.
• Review and implement Management of Change (MOC) processes, support continuous improvement activities, and provide timely expertise technical advisory service based on demands. 
• Support relevant FFP best practice and learning sharing within APA Operations team
  
  

Project Management:

• Support key APA Technology relevant projects at own sites and contract manufacturers
• Provide support in terms of technical feed for project design and execution phase, ensure successful technical startup of new formulation and/or refilling trial at contract manufacturers
• Provide technical support to Site Asset managers in terms of FFP technical management and processes, i.e. specification management, risk assessment, technical plan and selection process. 
• Support Site Asset managers by proposing and justifying needed improvements and typical solutions including design/ selection, installation & test.
• Monitor project implementation and facilitate technical decision making
  
  

Responsible Care/ Quality Assurance:

• Provide support on Quality Assurance and NCM improvement from technical perspective
• Provide support on EHS audit follow up on technical part including process modification and/ or material management
  
  

Global Formulant Task Force:

• Support development of Regional Formulants Strategy in collaboration with APA Technology and Procurement teams.
• Support in updating formulant Amiga database for APA
• Support in the implementation of mitigation actions for identified regional formulant risks
• Responsible for ensuring all formulants changes reflected at Formulant RegDB and all actions followed up timely
  
  

Regional Development Laboratories and Sample Preparations:

• Support in aligning with regional development laboratories in collaboration with own facilities (Singapore and China) and tollers to develop laboratory trial process for new product implementation and troubleshooting purposes.
• Coordinate samples for global samples, country registration and marketing purposes together with own laboratories and Global Sample Coordinator.
  
  

Management of Change (MOC) Coordinator:

• Provide technical support on creation of MOC, access rights and know-how on MOC Trackwise process
• Organize alignment on kick-off meeting between MOC requestor and stakeholders
• Update regional MOC and its subsequent action items ensuring closure as per project timeline effectively 

Requirements:

• University technical degree (Major in Technology or Engineering is preferable)
• > 5 years’ relevant experience in Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing or Site/ Contract Manufacturing Operations 
• Excellent and proven technology and engineering skills.
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
• Good understanding/ experience in Continuous Improvement, LEAN, 5S and/or Operational Excellence
• Exposure and/or experience of working in a multi-cultural and matrix organization environment
