GD/IC - Digital Portfolio Steering Specialist (m/f/d)
Responsibilities:

Support and continuously improve portfolio steering processes for Business Applications and IT Services (intake, prioritization, planning, and governance)

Support demand management by collecting, clarifying, qualifying, and structuring incoming initiatives and service requests (incl. value hypotheses and sizing)

Facilitate prioritization discussions with business and IT stakeholders by providing structured input on value, risk, architecture fit, capacity, and financial constraints
-
Maintain an integrated portfolio roadmap across products, applications, and services; coordinate dependencies and support alignment with strategy

Support portfolio financials by contributing to budget planning, monitoring and cost transparency

Help define and track portfolio KPIs (value, delivery, quality, cost, and risk) and contribute to management reporting and decision materials for governance bodies

Support transparency of service performance and lifecycle by aligning with service owners on SLAs, lifecycle discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives

Serve as an interface between business, architecture, security/compliance, and delivery teams by supporting end‑to‑end alignment and decision readiness

Help prepare and moderate portfolio governance meetings (e.g., portfolio reviews, investment committees) and support follow‑up of decisions and action items

Help establish and maintain portfolio standards (status model, reporting, KPI’s, data model) and enable teams to apply them consistently

Support early identification of portfolio risks, constraints, and compliance topics and help coordinate mitigation and escalations with the right stakeholders

Contribute to target operating model discussions for applications and services (roles, lifecycle, sourcing) and support implementation of agreed improvements

Contribute to continuous improvement and (where possible) automation in portfolio reporting (e.g., dashboards) and support a data‑driven decision culture

Support senior management communication by providing clear summaries, options, and trade‑offs to enable fast, transparent decisions
Requirements
-
Completed university degree in Business Administration, (Business) Informatics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field, with several years of experience in IT portfolio management, demand management, or IT service/product management

Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to moderate discussions, handle conflicts, and drive decisions across business and IT
-
Very good command of written and spoken English; German is a plus depending on the location
-
Solid understanding of business applications and IT services, incl. basic architecture concepts, IT security/compliance considerations, and application & service lifecycle management
-
Experience with portfolio planning methods (e.g., OKRs, roadmapping, WSJF/value-based prioritization) and agile ways of working; familiarity with Azure DevOps is a plus
-
Good knowledge of IT service management processes (ITIL) and practical experience with ServiceNow & LeanIX for demand, service, and reporting workflows; ServiceNow/LeanIX customizing experience is a plus. Development skills (e.g., scripting, integrations, automation) are a plus as well—candidates can also develop these capabilities on the job.

Strong analytical skills and affinity for data (KPIs, dashboards, financials); proficiency in PowerPoint/Excel and experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus

High level of self-management, structured working style, and the ability to handle multiple topics in parallel in a complex, international environment

Ability to communicate and present complex topics to diverse audiences, translating between business needs and IT realities

Experience in steering external partners/ and a good understanding of commercial/contractual levers (SLAs, KPIs) is beneficial
