GDF/AF - Middleware Engineer - System Integration (EDI, SAP CPI) (M/F/D)
Main Tasks / Scope of Work
Consulting tasks
Consults the BPI team in technical application questions during the solution design and functional specification phase
Provides effort estimation for realization and contributes to project planning
Creates Technical Design Document supported by the Business
Performs configuration and development in systems (e.g. customizing in SAP and / or KAFKA and SAP HANA DB, or in technology stack e.g. java)
Manages development activities (internal and external resource planning for development)
Supports testing and service transition
Collaborates with support team to identify areas of process implementation issues /continuous improvement
Translates stakeholder requirements into concrete specifications for different Integration technologies, like SAP CPI, Kafka, API-Management, use of technology stack using java
Software engineering tasks:
Focus is software design and software architecture of components and applications.
Independent development, enhancement, and migration of applications / modules / interfaces / tools / communication solutions
Integration and testing of software components within the existing application landscape.
Quality assurance and documentation of software developments.
Job Requirements

Education Master's degree in computer science or STEM major with 4-6 years of IT or related field experience OR
Bachelor's degree in computer science or STEM major with 6-8 years of IT or related field experience OR
Diploma or comparable training with 6+ years of professional experience in IT/application development
Work Experience Minimum 4 years related working experience
Experiencing Agile way of working or agile implementation approach
Work experience in an international company is a plus
Technical & Professional Knowledge (mandatory and nice to have) Our main requirements:
Experience with integration tools like SAP CPI, API Management, SAP HANA DB
Experience in different integration scenarios (orders, invoices, etc.)
Experience in Cloud Big Data technologies and architectures within AZURE or AWS
Experience in Java, Python, SQL in general, SCALA
Familiar with event-driven microservices
Familiar with Azure DevOps (or GitHub or similar)
Experience in operating/supporting systems as 2nd or 3rd level support
(root cause analysis and provide solutions for production and development issues).
Message monitoring to ensure solutions are performed as expected
Document test plans and complete unit testing of developed object
Participate in collaboration on break/fixes, enhancements, and projects
Broad overview of integration technologies esp. regarding SAP
Personal traits:
You can demonstrate fluent communication skills in English (spoken and written)
Well-developed sense of teamwork in an international DevOps team with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
Technical consulting skill with a focus on architecture and standardization
Ambitious, proactive & entrepreneurial character
Highly developed sense of responsibility
High customer- and service-orientation
Time flexibility to work across different time zones
Nice to have:
Familiar with EDI, SAP IDOC
Familiar with Kafka publish-subscribe principles
Experience in Kafka connectors and integration scenarios on different hyperscalers
Experience in transformation tools like KSQL Streams
Experience in SAP SLT (or other ETL tools)
Experience in any of the following SAP S/4 modules SD, MM or TM
Experiences in AI supported coding and coding of AI agents / AI based communication
Experience as a digital Product Owner
Certifications in agile, SAP, Hyperscalers
Language Proficiency Fluent spoken and written English proficiency
