GDD/PH - Test Automation Engineer (M/F/D)
Main tasks
• As a test automation engineer for the Operational EHS Platform and Integration team, you will be part of a global, multidisciplinary team responsible for the development of an internal platform for daily use globally at BASF production facilities.
• You will develop programs that will test the accuracy and reliability of internally developed software solutions for each module during its initial development and on an ongoing basis, especially in advance of major updates/deployments.
• Drive automation coverage and quality for your modules (prioritization, maintainability, and reducing flaky tests).
• You will collaborate with members of the Operational EHS Solutions team to define test cases and ensure testing is comprehensive and accurate
• You will provide feedback to the full-stack developer team and provide recommendations for corrective approaches for any issues identified during the testing process.
• Own the test approach for your assigned modules, aligned with the globally defined strategy.

Education
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, informatics, business informatics or in a comparable field
Work experience
More than 5+ years as QA Automator for a large team
More than 5+ years as Manual QA for a large team
Technical & Professional Knowledge (mandatory)
Experience in development and testing, with programming skills in JavaScript
Experience in test automation UI / API test development, utilizing design patterns and automation framework such as Playwright, Selenium or similar.
Experience in Manual testing and exploratory testing
Solid understanding of QA methodologies
Improve delivery speed by preventing defects and reducing rework through early testing and automation
The ability to predict common user workflows in order to design effective tests.
Experience in test design, performance testing, and configuration management
Technical & Professional Knowledge (additional plus/nice to have skills)
ISTQB Certifications
Load testing knowledge (Locust, Jmeter, etc)
Excellent issue isolation, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
Knowledge of DevOps tools for development, release, and monitoring
Experience working in an agile scrum based team
Experience learning independently and coaching others
