Objectives of the Position:
- Managing and controlling Operation & Maintenance of PEOL, PESOL, System House and MDI Plant at Dahej Site.
- Controlling Production, Quality Control, Processes & Striving for excellence in safety, quality, cost, productivity, reliability, legal aspects.
Main Tasks:
General Management
- Overall responsible for production, maintenance, EHS, Quality and cost for the PM cluster
- Provide resources required for carrying out all above functions
- Responsible for compliance of all statutory requirements applicable to PM Cluster.
- Generate targets related to resource conservation, energy saving, waste minimization and delegate down the line along with action plan.
- Implement A-PMA initiatives and targets as per RBU guidelines.
- Determine the organization structure for operations.
- Responsible for the area of PM Cluster which includes PEOL, PESOL, System House, MDI process plants and TPU Shed, RM/FG shed, AA & Sugar Shed, Blast freezer, PM-Tank-farm and partly PO/BD area.
- Monitor the overall plant activities and performance according to finalized customer and business requirements.
- Monitor and support to accomplish manufacturing objectives in time with quality and cost effectiveness.
- Establish and monitor the execution status of preventive maintenance plans and coordinate wherever required.
- Responsible for designated areas as per ‘Physical area of responsibly’ as mentioned below and earmarked in P&IDs for common pipelines etc.,
People Management
- Develop succession planning for the team
- Train, develop and evaluate the deputies and other functional reportees
- Responsible for hiring, talent development and performance management in coordination with HR BP/ site HR for PM Cluster.
- Lead, coach and monitor development of employees and their progress and coordinate with HR BP for continuous improvement
- Encourage people engagement to work as PM one
Safety and housekeeping
- Responsible for establishing, planning and implementation of All codes of Responsible Care Management Systems applicable to all 4 PM plants.
- Responsible for compliance with local and international rules and regulations, and to BASF Transport Safety requirements
- Responsible for implementing process safety requirements in all PM- Cluster plants.
- Responsible for implementing ‘Permit To Work’ system in PM-Cluster.
- Plan & implement improvement projects identified from various audits, visits, directives, ideas from within BASF or outside. Further monitor the progress and report the same to the concerned.
- Establish communication with internal and external customers to maintain & improve overall operations efficiency.
- Act as leading incident controller in case of emergency at PM -plant during general shift working hours. (8:30 am to 5:00 pm), whenever present at site.
- Responsible for monitoring and compliance of statutory requirements related to EHS
- Establish the safety standards and preventive guidelines according to mandatory and Responsible care requirements and coordinate to identify the common safety/health hazards inherent in the plant operations to implement preventive measures to eliminate the potential damages related to industrial hazard.
- Supervise the establishment and maintenance of a documentation system to keep updated rules/regulations, training, inspection and audit material/records to ensure that the EHS activities/Responsible care are properly documented and filed according to the needs.
- As an Emergency Response team member, rush to the incident spot in case of emergency in the site.
Customer Focus
- Monitoring the Plant utilization/downtime through AE.net tool (Asset effectiveness)
- Track and monitor the OpEx saving through OpEx Planner.
- Monitor compliance of Integrated Management System
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Polymer/ Chemical Engineering
- 15 years & above in the relevant industry.
- Technical & Professional Knowledge: Chemical Process/Petrochemical Plant Operations
