Lab technician – Cellasto Plant
Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities
Related to QA:
- Follow Good Laboratory Practices in Cellasto Lab.
- Test responsible for new development to meet the customers DV and PV plan.
- Timely submission of test Report as per customer requirement.
- Cellasto production samples testing and Layout Inspection to ensure consistent product quality.
- Coordination with supplier for Lab equipment maintenance.
- Co-ordination for in-house as well as external lab calibration of Lab measuring equipment.
- Follow the implemented standards and procedures: ISO9001/ ISO140001/ IATF 16949.
- Support the customer complain investigation.
- Ensure control, calibrate and maintain monitoring & measuring equipment pertaining to the laboratory.
- Join the different audits carried out in plant.
- Carry out G R&R study and Ensure capability of all measuring instruments as per appropriate MSA Studies.
- Maintain the record of calibration, MSA and appropriate action taken.
- Responsible for ensuring all housekeeping and cleanliness of the lab is maintained.
Related to Responsible Care Management Systems:
- Assist fellow workers in RC implementation and ensure they understand and observe all RC rules and regulations pertaining to their job.
- Follow SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) / Responsible care / cleanliness (5S) / discipline for improving the BASF’s safe work culture in the lab. Also ensure compliance of BASF’s statutory requirement, which also includes the training of the subordinates/contractors regarding the safety aspects and handling of the critical hazardous chemicals.
- Ensure that any item is safe for use and follow MSDS guidelines to handle all hazardous substances.
- Adherence to the PPE usage by self and plant personnel, ensure work permit system is properly followed in the shifts.
- Compliance to process safety and environmental protection code as per BASF practice.
- Report and inform all injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions or practices and exposures to any hazardous substances.
- Undertake all RC training required by the job.
Perform the role as defined in On-site Emergency Plan to mitigate the emergencies.
Job Requirements (minimum requirement to carry out the work)
Education - Bachelor’s in chemical (BE Chemical), MSc -Plastics, MSc Chemistry, BSc. + PG diploma in Testing, PG Diploma in Plastic mold technology, (CIPET)
Working Experience - Above 8 yrs
Technical & Professional Knowledge - Automotive Industry Systems/Hands on experience on Operating UTMs, another lab equipment’s. Chemical process is plus
