The BASF Ireland site based in Cork manufacturers specialty chemicals used in the mining industry for the solvent extraction of minerals from their ore bodies.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Work within a team which is responsible for the execution of tasks associated with the safe and reliable mechanical upkeep and improvement of site plant, processes, and equipment.
  • Be available for planned shift cover (if and when required) including the operation of site utilities and facilities, ensuring uninterrupted availability on an ongoing basis.
  • To support unplanned mechanical issues and provide shift cover as part of a rotating on-call rota.
  • A workplace where safety is a top priority.
  • You will receive training to ensure you have the required knowledge.

WHAT WE EXPECT

  • A Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate in Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting or an equivalent qualification level.
  • Completed an approved apprenticeship as a Mechanical Fitter, with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a site role within a Process manufacturing environment.
  • Training and experience in pipe fabrication is an advantage.
  • You will work within EHS requirements to ensure safe working systems and practices are followed, taking responsibility for personal actions and the actions of others.
  • Be an effective communicator and have decision making skills, with a ‘can-do’ attitude who can work independently or as part of a team to ensure that targets are achieved.
  • Good analytical skills to identify & implement improvements.
