Global Digital Services (GDS) is supporting BASF business in Digitalization transformation. Our MISSION is to drive forward the digital transformation of BASF, providing innovative, global and high-quality digital products and services through a strong agile culture. Part of the GDS strategy, BASF Shared Services Center Kuala Lumpur (BSSCKL) is one of the established Digital Hub for APAC region.

Order Management Solutions creates, delivers and runs digital applications for users managing sales & distribution activities in the movement of goods between BASF divisions and end-customers. Working agilely, we enable functionality of core systems & processes.  We partner and consult with stakeholders to innovate solutions proactively across multiple technology platforms to anticipate future needs.

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be part of a team that is end-to-end accountable for intercompany business.

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be part of a team that is end-to-end accountable for intercompany/cross-company processes. The team provides an integrated supply chain solution to connect intercompany business across the globe. It ensures that customer requirements are understood, analysed, and translated to IT products in an agile fashion using an agile framework. The team is responsible for development and operations of the respective SAP application. This position is especially foreseen to support the migration from an R/3 ERP to S/4 HANA and a multi-ERP approach for BASF

Main Tasks

• Supporting the Order Management team in transitioning from a single SAP R/3 system to multiple SAP S/4 HANA systems.   
• Designing interfaces, technical enhancements, and new applications for the Order to Cash processes.   
• Developing applications using cutting-edge programming techniques, ensuring adherence to all relevant company development guidelines.   
• Ensuring the delivery of stable, supportable, and runnable technical solutions collaborating with operations.   
• Participating in project planning and providing cost estimations for complex projects.   
• Supporting testing activities and assisting in error correction and collaborating with cross-functional teams for seamless integration of new applications.   
• Staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to bring innovation to the team's work. 

Requirements

•  A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.   
•  Proficiency in interface technologies and development, with a focus on API development and management.   
•  Expertise in SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), and SAP Build Process Automation, ideally covering SAP Cloud Application Programming model (CAP).   
•  Experience with Kafka or similar streaming platforms.   
•  Strong understanding of cloud development principles and technologies (e.g. JavaScript, Node.js, UI-development capabilities), ability to work with OData in the API environment.   
•  Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.   
•  Excellent communication skills and proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
