Salesforce Power BI / Databricks Architect  
 

In your new role, you will be the technical architecture expert for our Sales Reporting team and combine deep technical expertise with a strategic view on architecture, development, and integration.  
 
You will focus on the technical foundations that enable scalable, secure, and high-performing reporting and data-driven actionable insights solutions, with a strong emphasis on Power BI integrations, data connections, and embedding scenarios.  

You define and implement advanced reporting technical patterns, including dataset reuse, composite models, incremental refresh strategies, and performance optimization using DAX and model design best practices.  

Your responsibilities include defining and implementing connection strategies between reporting platforms and multiple data sources, optimizing data access patterns, and supporting complex integration scenarios. You play a key role in enabling advanced use cases such as embedding Power BI reports into external applications (e.g. Salesforce) and ensuring secure authentication and authorization flows.  

In addition, you contribute to the evolution of actionable customer insights by enabling advanced capabilities such as AI-driven analytics, Copilot features, or chatbot-based access to data, in alignment with the overall reporting strategy.  

You will collaborate closely with the Reporting Lead and Product Owner to translate strategic and architectural decisions into robust technical implementations for Sales reporting across BASF ODs.

WHAT YOU BRING  

Degree in computer science, data engineering, analytics, or comparable technical qualification  

>5 years of experience with Salesforce (Sales/Service Cloud) as a developer and architect, solid understanding of complex data models and system architectures, and ideally Salesforce certifications (e.g., System Administrator, AI Specialist)   

Strong experience with data platforms, particularly Azure Databricks. Well proficient in the uses of Azure DevOps (or similar tools such as Jira) as part of SDLC.  

Solid understanding of data integration, authentication, and embedding scenarios, ideally via an event-driven architecture (e.g., Kafka as the event bus).  

Experience with data classification, using AI models (e.g., OpenAI LLMs for summarization), and generating data-driven insights. Azure OpenAI (e.g., GPT models), Prompt Flow, integration of Azure OpenAI into Databricks. GenAI patterns: RAG, vector databases, LLM agents (including interfaces such as MCP/A2A), prompt engineering and evaluation.   

Very strong Python skills; frameworks such as PyTorch/TensorFlow/sklearn  

Strong experience in Power BI architecture, advanced features and deep technical knowledge of Power BI Service, semantic models, datasets, and security (RLS, AAD)  

Embedding expertise web development skills are important to use APIs and create modern, user-friendly interfaces. This also includes using frameworks and libraries provided by the DevHub platform, as well as automation and CI/CD pipelines for rapid development and deployment  

Experience working in agile environments and with tools such as Azure DevOps and Confluence  

Analytical skills and enjoyment of teamwork, combined with a structured and solution-oriented working style  

Enthusiasm for diverse tasks that allow you to apply your strengths as a technical allrounder  

Very good English skills, both written and spoken
