WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
The Head of Metal Management applies technical and commercial expertise in nickel, cobalt, and lithium to lead global sourcing and metals management for the Battery Materials division. The role encompasses responsibility for the division’s metals strategy, standards for team performance, and oversight of sourcing and metals management activities across key battery metals.
- In your new role, as Head of Metal Management you define and execute the global metals management strategy, ensuring that strategic objectives are translated into clear priorities and actionable plans.
- In addition, you manage overall market risk and exposure, keeping positions within approved limits and proposing mitigation or hedging actions where needed.
- Moreover, you prepare complete and well‑founded credit proposals, ensuring they meet all Divisional and Corporate risk‑reward criteria.
- You regularly review and monitor all relevant trading lines to maintain transparency and appropriate risk oversight.
- Furthermore you identify, target, and engage key existing and prospective counterparties to strengthen commercial opportunities.
- You provide meaningful input into business planning processes and support effective short‑ and long‑term planning.
- You collaborate with the Vice President and global team to address key issues affecting the book and develop opportunity‑driven strategies.

WHAT YOU OFFER

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (MBA is a plus)
-
at least 7 years of experience in the metals industry, including strong knowledge of international, volatile physical and futures/forward metal markets
-
proven experience working in global, cross‑functional, matrixed teams and driving alignment across organizational boundaries
-
strong decision‑making, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to structure and close profitable transactions
-
understanding of battery metal products and their chemical/metallurgical characteristics, or the ability to learn these quickly
-
3–5 years of operational (preferably back‑office) experience; banking or accounting knowledge is an asset

excellent communication and presentation skills with full professional proficiency in English (German/Spanish a plus)

demonstrated commitment to sustainability, safety, diversity, and entrepreneurial behavior, plus willingness to travel up to 25%
