WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

We are looking for someone prepared to lead an existing global team and product by developing a deep alignment with the core development squad and assessing global needs in collaboration with your fellow Product Owners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Primary skill set: product ownership/management (must be familiar with modern full stack and cloud native development structure) 
• Secondary skill set: project management 
• You will be the responsible product owner for the platform core team of an internal global EHS (safety) platform with a particular focus on user story development, backlog management, and platform strategy to ensure timely delivery and successful deployments. 
• You will build upon your existing experience in agile software development, platform & module design, and project management to organize the requirements, module design, platform design (when necessary), testing, and communication associated with global full stack development. 
• You will collaborate strategically and tactically across many teams in the division to further develop a unified operations platform solution that integrates the EHS, maintenance and operations domains in a scalable environment. 
• You will, on a continuous basis, collaborate with stakeholders in EHS, production, and digitalization across all BASF regions on topics related to module design, road-mapping, prioritization, and continuous improvement, ultimately ensuring buy-in and customer satisfaction, especially during critical delivery periods or escalation cases. 
• You will support the implementation and ongoing use of the solutions in your area by partnering with other product owners, solution engineers and developers in the team, especially during project planning and the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) phases 
• You will develop formal communication and deliver presentations related to module strategy, outlook, and status on a regular basis to tactical stakeholders and leadership at multiple levels in the organization. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in product ownership for a large scale, cloud-based platform. 
• Experience in agile software development team 
• Project management/coordination experience 
• High comfort level with software and smart technologies 
• Experience developing and delivering leadership-level communications  
• Familiarity with core EHS processes in the chemical manufacturing industry or similar industries is a plus
