Objectives of the Position

Within our Product Family Digital Commerce & Advisor we help BASFs sales teams sell more via digital channels. Within our product family the team “Product Information Systems” (PIM) is building and supporting solutions that enable our customers to discover and explore our products in our several digital channels. The solution architect will work in a global environment, collaborating with international teams to design and implement sustainable digital solutions for our partners. Works closely with Business, project management product owners and developers to define technical approaches that fulfil the business requirements.  

Main Tasks

• Translate business requirements into IT concepts and solutions
• Support early consulting or comparable consulting for upcoming projects where you will design solutions in close alignment with product owners, developers, EA, security and business stakeholders
• Actively control implementation of solution architectures and contribute to development
• Drive strategic development of overall architecture and reduce technical debts
• Work closely with other architects within product family and segment and contribute to a global solution where necessary
• Operates in a global environment, collaborating with international teams to design and implement sustainable digital solutions for our internal partners
• In close cooperation with the product owners and the development team, you will further develop the applications described above in an agile working environment
• Promote the use of BASF guidelines and standards within the DevOps team
• Optimizing of existing application (e.g. performance)
• Support the team in the analyzing of hard technical issues.
• Supporting the team in security topics (PKI, Authentication...)

Requirements

Education

• You have a degree or a comparable education in the field of computer and information science.

Working Experience

• Minimum 3+ years
• You have already acquired professional experience in an IT environment.

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory)

• Deep technical knowledge of network, databases, cloud technologies and common programming languages
• Knowing the state of the art technologies
• Strong in communication skills
• Self-starter and able to work independently
• Experience in Agile way of working or agile implementation approach
• Strong Digital mindset to accelerate BASF Digitalization transformation journey
• Experiences in working in global / virtual teams/projects
• An entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to foster a positive and energized culture
• Able to support team with the Operational Support strategy, planning, execution and operations management

Language Proficiency

• Fluent English skills
