• Global Digital Services (GDS) is supporting BASF business in Digitalization transformation. Our MISSION is to drive forward the digital transformation of BASF, providing innovative, global, and high-quality digital products and services through a strong agile culture.
• As part of the GDS strategy, BASF Shared Services Center Kuala Lumpur (BSSCKL) is one of the established Global Digital Hub for APAC region.
• In the Procurement Product Family in the Product Team BI Procurement Reporting, you would consult and support our business partner for the implementation BI / BW applications in our complex landscape. It can include the design, development of functional or technical applications or the enhancements to existing applications and integration of third-party solution.
• The SAP BI Consultant understands functional requirements to provide our internal business partner sustainable state-of-the-art solutions. You will also be responsible to implement such solutions in cooperation with other teams in Global Digital Services and the business partner.  

Responsibility

• Responsible for managing & maintaining operational business support in BASF SAP BI / BW application landscape. In case of incidents, ensure restoring normal application services as quickly as possible and minimize adverse impact on operations including Problem management, Change Management (incl. small business requests) and Continuous Service Improvement (CSI)
• Responsible for designing possible functional solutions for subject-specific business requirements in coordination with other DevOps engineers and internal business partners within BASF
• Provide support during change requests / projects with early consulting which comprises efforts estimation and high-level design solution. Thereafter, proceed and ensure further development, evolution, and optimization
• Configure, support development and test complex applications, including quality assurance in cooperation with our business partners and third-party providers
• You consult on (technical) questions in context of business applications for reporting, create specifications for projects as well as for change requests in cooperation with other consultants and our business units.
• You do complex software developments on your own, but also take over the management of developments in cooperation with internal colleagues or external service providers.
• In addition, you regularly run maintenance task, quality assurance measures and test activities and undertake the development of support concepts. You also ensure smooth service operation of applications.
• Able to communicate complex contexts convincingly to the stakeholders within BASF and build stable relationships
• In the digitalization/innovation aspect, act as a Global / Regional representative of BASF Digital community, supporting BASF Digital roadmap, helping GDS to identify, execute and implement customer-centric digital solutions in an actionable and measurable way.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Computer Science, informatics, business informatics or in a comparable field

Working Experience

• Minimum 4-6 years related working experience with complex SAP BI / BW applications

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory)

• Experience in SAP BW/4HANA.
• Experience in programming skills: ABAP/ABAP OO, SQL, HANA native or alternatively another 3 GL development language (e.g. Java, etc.)
• In addition to the pronounced technical inclination, you have a strong interest in understanding the business background in procurement and creating sustainable BI applications together with the internal business partner.
• Well-developed proactive and self-driven character
• Ability to convey information to both technical and non-technical audience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, result oriented and able to work independently in multi-tasking role and under pressure with tight schedules.
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision and be able to cope with events and accept responsibility.
• High sense of responsibility to have conflict awareness and management skills
• Excellent English communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills in an international team combined with a very high level of customer orientation

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Additional plus/nice to have Skills)

• Experience in SAP Analytics Cloud (Reporting / Planning).
• Experience in procurement reporting application design, and/or in procurement processes.
• Experience working agile with a DevOps mindset.
• Strong Digital mindset to accelerate BASF Digitalization transformation journey
