Production Manager
Objectives of the Position
- Responsible for overseeing the daily production operations to ensure the required products are produced and packed on time, safely and within the required quality
Main Task
- Ensure all environmental, health and safety rules and guidelines are fully adhered and maintaining high safety standards for a safe working environment by the production personnels.
- Plan, organize, and manage daily production activities to ensure that production schedules targets are met.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors, foremen and operators, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs for team members.
- Facilitate effective communication within the production team and across departments.
- Perform internal audits to support Integrated Management System ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO 45001, IATF 16949 Quality Management System for Automotive industry.
- Implement and uphold quality control measures to maintain product quality requirements and consistency within production team.
- Initiate investigation to identify the root cause and sustainably implement necessary corrective actions on non-compliance or incidents on safety, quality, production efficiency and customer complaints.
- Ensure all the production personnel are working according to work instruction and procedures adhering to BASF standards.
- Prepare, update and maintain procedure, work instruction, EASI, HIRA, WSP & other documentations on environment, quality and safety involving production operations for compliance.
- Manage production resources, including raw materials, equipment, and personnel, to optimize productivity and minimize waste.
- Lead initiatives for production process optimization and cost reduction, utilizing methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in production management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in engineering plastics or compounding.
- Proven experience leading teams and managing production operations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
