Front-End Developer at Laboratory Workplace Automation (m/f/d)

We are seeking a talented and passionate Frontend Developer with strong UX design skills to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly web applications that provide an exceptional user experience. You will work in our product family “Digital Laboratory” that advises and supports the digitization of various BASF units in the field of research and development. By implementing innovative solutions with our partners and development teams that meet our end user's needs in the domain of laboratory data acquisition systems, laboratory measurement equipment and interfaces for intersystem communication.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Collaborate with product owners, users/partners and development teams to translate design concepts into functional and interactive user interfaces.

• Design, develop and maintain responsive web applications using modern frontend technologies.

• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and improve the overall user experience.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in frontend development and UX design.

QUALIFICATIONS

General Qualification / Experience / Skill:

• Study or training in the field of computer science or natural sciences

• Experience in Agile (Scrum/KANBAN) project methodologies.

• English, additionally German preferred

• Used to design and implement state of the art user interfaces.

• Demonstrated proficiency in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, articulating concepts, and consistently enhancing software development and delivery processes.

• Demonstrate a passion for learning and a willingness to adopt new technologies.

• Focus on user experience and user satisfaction. 

• Experience in a regulated environment (GLP, GMP, etc.) is of an advantage.

• Experience with Azure DevOps is of an advantage.

Software Development Skills:

• Clean Code and KISS principles are part of your daily coding routine.

• Proficient in developing HTML/CSS/JavaScript/TypeScript

• Knowledge of object- and functionally oriented languages, design principles, design patterns.

• Experienced in designing holistic UX concepts.

• Experienced with software build, test & analysis tools

• Experienced with Frameworks: Angular, Vue.js, Bootstrap
