Objectives of the position

 

Order Management Solutions creates, delivers and runs digital applications for users managing sales & distribution activities in the movement of goods between BASF divisions and end-customers. Working in an Agile way of working, we enable functionality of core systems & processes.  We partner and consult with stakeholders to innovate solutions proactively across multiple technology platforms to anticipate future needs.

 

As an Agile Master you will work in agile frameworks, workshops/events facilitation, teach and communicate with different organizational levels. You will need to be able to understand current organization (As-Is) and act in transformational environment (To-Be) being capable to look for the needed adaptations accordingly to the occasion in order to reach a smooth change management process but without impacting the purposes of events, artifacts and roles. You will encourage and challenge teams to improve performance and maturity, focusing on delivering value to the customer in a sustainable, iterative, and collaborative way. You will also be a key driver for the Product Family Agile community. As a promoter on BASF’s path towards digitalization, you will support existing products and initiatives as well as innovate additional and new digital solutions that support BASF’s global businesses.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Supporting the Product Owner and Developers in their quest to do everything possible to delight customers, refining and managing the product backlog
  • Providing coaching and support to various teams and organizations using a servant leadership style and leading by example with values of Agile, Scrum and Kanban
  • Guiding and Coaching both the Scrum Team and the Developers on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum and Kanban frameworks
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
  • Protecting the team from interruptions and external interferences, keeping the team focused within the context of the product vision and goals and remove impediments via team guidance or direct support
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving
  • Facilitating the effectiveness and consistent improvement of the process being followed by the team. Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution. Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Working actively together with other Scrum Masters, Service Delivery Managers and Agile Coaches
  • Support agile transformation at team and Product family level by facilitating the cooperation between roles of agile teams and act as a change agent to disseminate agile mindset, values and principles

 

 Requirements

 

  • Degree in Computer Science, informatics, business informatics or in a comparable field
  • Relevant experience as Agile leader (similar position as a Scrum Master / Service Delivery Manager).
  • 2 years’ experience in either being the Scrum Master role for a team/s that was/were diligently applying Scrum principles, practices and theory or being the Service Delivery Manager / Flow Manager / Delivery Manager role for a team/s that was/were diligently applying Kanban principles, practices and theory
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills with experiences of conducting workshops/meetings/events facilitation
  • Experience working in complex, matrix organization set-up
  • Previous experience as a DevOps Engineer will be advantageous
  • Good-to-have Trainer skills being capable to teach Agile, Scrum and/or Kanban content (Values, Principles, User Stories, Estimations, STATIK, Continuous Improvement, etc.), Proactivity and being a role model reflecting the Agile values (Respect, Courage, Commitment, Focus and Openness). Comfortable working and communicating in a transparent and constructive way.
