Project Lead Battery Management System (BMS) Development for NAS Batteries (m/f/d)

BASF Stationary Energy Storage GmbH (BSES) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BASF SE. BSES is the exclusive distributer of the NAS® batteries and co-develops the NAS® technology together with its Japanese partner NGK Insulators Ltd.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The battery management system and generation / archiving / analysis of NAS battery data need to be upgraded and adopted to latest industry standards, using state of the art protocols for software and hardware infrastructure. Therefore, we are looking for suitable candidates to lead this project and manage the implementation of the new BMS into our latest generation of NAS batteries.
- You lead and coordinate the individual workstreams of this project: Advanced process control of NAS battery, data collection and storage, data transfer and analysis.
- You will coordinate closely with the internal teams for technology and R&D, procurement and project execution of the global NAS battery unit at BASF.
- You will coordinate with our external partners for development and production of electronic components to ensure a smooth interplay of hardware and software solutions.
- You will be embedded in our global structure of NAS battery development including our partner NGK Insulators, Japan, to be able to transfer the new BMS into our latest NAS battery system.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Studies in computer science, electrical engineering, physics or similar
- Background in electrochemistry or battery technology as well as digitalization, knowledge in AI-tools is an additional plus
- Several years of experience in BMS design or control cabinets in the field of battery technologies or energy storage
- Good expertise of software solutions and hardware components used in process control systems
- Work experience in project management and technical understanding
- Excellent communication in English and German
- Strong communicative, social and intercultural skills
- Ability to resolve controversial issues together with your partner and hold course in situations of uncertainty
