RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Farming provides actionable and field-specific advice to farmers, advisors and business partners worldwide for our xarvio products. For this we build digital solutions for crop management for the xarvio FieldManager, xarvio HealthyFields, ONE SmartSpray and Horta.

• As Senior Agronomic Modeler, you develop state of the art models for agricultural, environmental and biological processes.
• You embed these models into decision support systems for crop health management including pests, diseases and weeds as well as enhance field specific decision logics for farmers and advisors.
• Additionally, you proactively drive the global model development, validation and calibration pipeline automation and train the modeler team.
• In order to define development and modelling capabilities, you align with agronomy experts and developers worldwide. 
• Last but not least, you define data needs for model development and validation trials and actively monitor and ensure in-season model performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD or master's degree with a proven professional track record
• profound experience in model development with programming language Python (Java is a plus)
• knowledge in phytopathology desirable
• excellent communication and presentation skills in English
