Objectives of the Position

  • Operating the AO manufacturing plant and ensure compliance to all production, EHS and quality standards
  • Basic experience in Panel (DCS) and Field operations for all the production lines; to progressively attain full familiarity with both panel (DCS) and field production operations

Main Tasks

  • Operates the production units in accordance with local and company’s EHS rules and regulations, SOPs and as instructed by the Production Engineer
  • Good knowledge of process flow of ALL production units incl. tank-farm, utility to fulfills the tasks as follows:
    • Familiarity with Emergency procedures for the safe operation and shutdown of units through DCS
    • Perform field operator routines such as RM and catalyst filling, SAMACO rounds, preparation of equipment for LOTO, 5S rounds, filter change outs etc
    • Ensure the correct usage and maintenance of PPEs for all the associated field tasks
    • Learn and Operate Delta V to control process units under close supervision of Senior/Lead Technician
    • Understand the EHS risk associated with their tasks by reading the respective EHS risk assessment
    • In case of emergency, performs the activities of a fire fighting brigade member after shutting down the plant safely as per the emergency shutdown procedure.
    • Performs in-process sampling and testing
    • Performs simple maintenance jobs, opening and boxing up of equipment, handles tools in accordance to safety requirement
    • Trouble shoots where required; initiates corrective measures in accordance with his supervisors and maintains proper documentation trail; update process log book and hand over documents.
    • Participate in plant safety activities and participate in housekeeping and safety programs
    • Report all accident, injury, near miss, unsafe conditions and behavior to immediate Supervisor so that remedial actions can be taken to eliminate risk. Ensure full compliance to plant EHS programs such as BBS/HEC

Qualification Required for the Position

  • Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other related engineering qualifcation     
  • At least 3 years of experience in Chemical plant 
  • Basic understanding of chemical process. Able to use of Microsoft office. Use of SAP PM module will be a plus

  • Operate the Antioxidant (AO) manufacturing plant and ensure compliance to all production, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and quality standard.

How You Will Do It

 

  • Operate the production units in accordance with local and company’s EHS rules and regulations, Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) and as instructed by the Production Engineer
  • Good knowledge of process flow of all production units including tank-farm and utilities to fulfil the tasks as follows:
    • Familiarity with emergency procedures for the safe operation and shutdown of units through DCS.
    • Perform field operator routines such as raw material and catalyst filling, SAMACO rounds, preparation of equipment for Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), 5S rounds, filter change outs etc.
    • Ensure the correct usage and maintenance of PPEs for all the associated field tasks.
    • Learn and Operate Delta V to control process units under close supervision of Senior/Lead Technician.
    • Understand the EHS risk associated with their tasks by reading the respective EHS risk assessment.
    • Coordinate and work with the team members and contractors to complete plant tasks in a safe and timely manner.
    • In case of emergencies, perform the activities of a firefighting brigade member after shutting down the plant safely as per the emergency shutdown procedure.
    • Perform in-process sampling and testing.
    • Perform simple maintenance jobs, opening and boxing up of equipment, handles tools in accordance with safety requirement.
    • Troubleshoot where required; initiate corrective measures in accordance with his supervisors and maintains proper documentation trail; update process log-book and hand over documents.
    • Participate in plant safety activities and housekeeping and safety programs
    • Report all accident, injury, near miss, unsafe conditions and behavior to immediate Supervisor so that remedial actions can be taken to eliminate risk.
    • Ensure full compliance to plant EHS programs such as Behavior Based Safety (BBS) / Hazard Elimination and Control Card (HEC)

What We Look For

 

  • Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other related engineering qualification (e.g. NITEC).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a chemical plant is required; however, fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are encouraged to apply. 
  • Basic understanding of chemical processes.
  • Basic experience in Panel Distributed Control System (DCS) and field operations for all the production lines to progressively attain full familiarity with both panel DCS and field production operations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. 
  • Experience with the SAP PM module will be an added advantage.
  • Must be able to work at Jurong Island and accommodate a 24/7 shift schedule.
