Area:

The Corporate Legal team provides various types of legal and contractual services for both the Hub and all business units in North America and South America, in the areas of Intellectual Property and Corporate Law.

 

Main Objective of the Position:

Support BASF divisions in legal and compliance matters and offer modern solutions tailored to business needs, ensuring a high level of customer orientation with cooperative, efficient, and future-oriented services.

 

Main Tasks:

  • Support BASF businesses across the Americas, Europe, and Asia in legal and compliance matters, delivering efficient, customeroriented, and futureready services aligned with internal standards.
  • Support and conduct highly complex contractual analysis and Compliance and Legal matters and operations, and offer modern solutions tailored to business needs, ensuring a high level of customer orientation with cooperative, efficient, and future-oriented services
  • Supporting legal and compliance tools related activities (e.g. in Trust Base, One Trust, ICM).
  • Provisioning services related to local or international standard compliance and legal inquiries based on playbooks.
  • Prepare reports on contract status, key metrics, and performance indicators for management review. Maintain a centralized repository of contracts and related documents for easy access.
  • Create and maintain training materials for legal & compliance tools (e.g. CLM-platform, Trust Base), conduct user training sessions, provide user support and develop support functionalities. 
  • Provide guidance and support to the business in the drafting and negotiation of highly complex contracts and support the business in selecting the appropriate highcomplexity contractual vehicles for each specific situation. Implementation and maintenance of the existing and newly created model contracts and clauses for BASF standard contracts
  • Maintain continuous and proactive communication with multiple clients and stakeholders, working closely with different areas of the organization. Understand endtoend (E2E) processes and their impact on workflow and evaluate and propose process improvements.
  • Lead projects involving the management of large volumes of legal contracts within tight deadlines.

 

Minimum Education and Qualification Requirements for the Position:

  • Education: University degree in Law.
  • Working Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience. Knowledge of common law systems and Brazilian law is a plus. Admission to practice law in the U.S. is a strong plus.
  • Language Skills: Professional proficiency in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in the legal, compliance, or commercial contract management fields. Working knowledge of legal databases and standard IT applications.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills to maintain effective interaction with clients, stakeholders and cross-functional teams within the Hub and BASF.
