Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Analytical Services and Quality is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of the Geismar site's analytical laboratories and quality management systems. This role ensures the delivery of reliable analytical testing, robust quality assurance processes, and innovative digital solutions that support safe, efficient, and competitive manufacturing operations and customer satisfaction.

  • Analytical Services Leadership
    • Lead all site analytical laboratory functions supporting manufacturing, environmental, research, and quality requirements.
    • Develop, implement and sustain fundamental processes and management systems throughout the site’s labs.
    • Establish laboratory strategies to improve process efficiencies and achieve performance objectives aligned with site and business goals.
    • Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable analytical testing to support safe and efficient plant operations.
    • Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
    • Drive laboratory modernization, automation, and technology advancements.

Quality Management

  • Provide leadership for site quality management systems and governance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with BASF safety and quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Foster a culture of operational discipline, quality ownership, and continuous improvement across the site.

Operational Excellence

  • Identify opportunities and drive cost optimization while maintaining high levels of service and compliance.
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement activities across analytical and quality organizations.
  • Develop performance metrics and dashboards to measure organizational effectiveness.
  • Support site safety, reliability, operational integrity, and production excellence initiatives.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of laboratory and quality professionals.
  • Build organizational capability through succession planning, talent development, and workforce planning.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing culture.
  • Promote strong safety leadership and compliance with all BASF EHS expectations

If you...

 

Qualifications - Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Sciences, Data Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, laboratory operations, quality management, or related industrial environments.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing technical or operational teams.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical techniques, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, proactive and stakeholder management skills

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (M.S., MBA, or Ph.D.) in a relevant discipline.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Knowledge of ISO-based quality systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience with SAP, LIMS, PI systems, Power BI, advanced analytics platforms, and data visualization tools.
